You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Yes. this. Years of watching "Deadwood" also prepared me for massive, old-timey swearing. Something is making my throat tickle and I'm coughing a little today...it's hot here and the air quality isn't great. Kind of reminds me of the thing Mon had, but I think it's been long enough(and she was having an allergy--long story-- but I don't think I can catch it.)

Last night Grace took me to see Brandi Carlile. I was surprised at the age of the crowd. I asked Grace if she thought I was the same age as most of the attendees (for God's sake Jane Fonda was there!) and she just looked at me with her wobbly eye (that occurs when she doesn't want to do something wrong) and said, No comment. Sigh. Am old.

Maybe *starting out* betrayed is good prep, though I can't say it's worth it-- I mean, I wish I'd found something that I could point to and say "This was what it was all for," but I don't think so. Was going to phonebank today, but in addition to the computer dialler that is never smooth sailing for me, I have a stupid cough that makes me worry that much talking would screw up my voice.(Nothing else but the dry hack so far, which is fortunate in a way that is aggravating.
