Fuck fuck fuck my dog just had a seizure. She’s never had one but she’s 16. She just laying still and breathing steadily now.
Seizures can be outta nowhere. I've experienced it with young and older pets. Give her some time to recover or go to the vet but they often come back strong. She's older so might have some lingering issues but seizures are scarier to experience than dangerous. Terrifying though. So awful.
My street finally got plowed late this afternoon. Schools here are closed tomorrow, and a bunch of other universities nearby are either closed or doing remote learning, but mine still hasn't announced anything other than usual for tomorrow.
edit: And, a minute after I posted that, we got a notice that campus is closed tomorrow.
Timelies all!
I don't know how many inches of snow we got, but there was a couple of inches of sleet on top of it, so shoveling has been challenging. I got some of the driver's side done yesterday(in the sleet) and a fair bit of behind the car today. Hopefully that will be enough for me to get out tomorrow morning. Mr. S's school is closed today and tomorrow. So is the government, but I am an essential employee, so I need to try to get to work if I can.(Couldn't today, but I will try my best for tomorrow)
{{{msbelle}} I'm sorry, that's so scary
Ugh seizures are so scary. Hope she’s ok, msbelle
She’s gone, just stopped breathing. I’m a fucking disaster.
I don’t know what to do. I have always taken pets to the vet when they are at the end. It’s after dark and the roads are icy. Do I just carry her body to my car and go in the morning?
Fucking fuck fuck
msbelle, I'm so, so sorry. Just give yourself a little bit of time here to grieve, and breathe. Do that first.
Do you have a garage? It's already 8:30 pm; you could just wrap her in a blanket or towels, and also plastic like a large trash bag, and then lay her in the garage, or in a box. I can't remember if she's a smaller dog, but a box might be very helpful. Then call your vet first thing in the morning.
So much love to you and E.
