A couple of sidewalks weren’t cleared over my 1½ block walk to the subway this morning. That was rough! However, everything was cleared and salted when I emerged from the subway right in front of my work building.
It’s a good thing I have the option of taking the subway instead of walking the full five blocks to work.
The final accumulation in my front yard looks to be around 7-8 inches. A crust formed on the surface, which makes for excellent birdseed dispersal and a lot of extra engagement for my cats.
We got about 5" with a crust of sleet/ice. So far, I have shoveled the walk completely. The sidewalk is next and will need to be done in segments. I am now on my second round of antibiotics for the combination bronchitis and sinus infection. I would like to be done with all of this, especially since I've reached that point in recovery where I think I can be productive and then fall over on the couch after doing two things.
While I'm happy for the local football fans that the Seahawks are going to the Superbowl, I hate the fireworks. And apparently they caused two housefires in our area, which is horrible.

I just involuntarily shrieked.
It's been 7+ years since I had to touch Windows and I didn't think it could get worse. I guess Windows 11 looked at all previous versions and said "hold my beer".
Jilli, for the coughing, have you tried Tessalon Pearls? They aren't opioids like codeine, but they work like spooky magic to stop coughing.
