So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I regret to inform the world that I'm wearing Wednesday lounge pants with an oversized Wednesday shirt (AKA, I'm still in my PJs) and an even more oversized Wednesday hoodie. And, like, warm socks.

ADULTING!

Also, I need to do things like shower and brush my hair, but the towels are currently being laundered, and I don't feel like dealing with a drip-dry afternoon.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I mentioned my team was reorg-ed into a better structure, yes? And that I'm not a manager anymore, which is fine. My new "creator" role is one I'm honestly excited about, but my new title weirds me out: Product Enablement Program Manager. There's no "editor" or "technical writer" in that! That's weird and change is scary!

(I know I can do this, but omgwtfbbqpolarbear.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That is weird, Atropa, but titles often are weird for no good reason. I am excited for you!

PMM, is that “Wednesday” like today is Wednesday so these are Wednesday clothes or like Wednesday Addams?

Ooh I am also middle aged and therefore intrigued by POG spindrift

I quit working earlier than usual (started early too) and the dog is whining that we aren’t going out promptly. But he always wants to go to the school nearby, and we can’t go there until school is over around 4. He thinks I’m just being mean. He does not understand clocks.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ahh, the days of the leather pants discussions...

meara, poor dog. So disappointed in the vagaries of time.

Poor skunk, poor raccoon.

Himself has had two Mohs surgeries, and no sign of recurrance. May the same be true for Buffistas.

Trudy, good on getting the EMTs to take your mom where she needed to go.

Best of luck to all threatened by however many inches of ice. And may there be enough snacks easily available for all.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have a dog who hates rain, cold, and snow and yet lives for walks. I have not yet figured out a way to get through to him that winter is not just some big trick that we’re playing on him to deprive him of the regular, warm outside.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, because winter is a big trick to deprive us of a warm outside.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

I took Mom out to dinner tonight to celebrate her remission news, and the restaurant manager comped our meal for taking too long to prepare. Which we hadn't even noticed, we'd had croissants to start and Mom's salad came out plenty quickly so neither of us were going hungry or getting impatient.

I decided to spend the unexpected windfall on this insulated outdoor cat shelter for the sole remaining alley cat from the colony I used to take care of: [link]

It won't arrive before the snow hits, but hopefully I can get it assembled and set up in a secure spot soon enough to be useful to Jojo this winter.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Trudy, good on getting the EMTs to take your mom where she needed to go.

I cannot say enough about the EMTs in this city. One other time we were doing the MSK-permission-thing and part way through looked me and quietly said "we're taking her to Pres" and then quietly stayed with me until it was clear this wasn't the stroke they feared.

If he'd had another call obviously he'd have left, but he didn't and spent his gap just hanging so I wasn't alone.

Matt, that's just good news on top of good news!

How awesome of you.
