What a day. Layoffs at work, my uncle called me out of the blue this morning, I can’t remember the last time I talked to him, said he wanted to reconnect. So I called him back after work and he rambled at me, I think he was just at a loose end because my aunt and cousin were out of town. Then got a text from my one coworker who left last year because he heard about the layoffs, (he’s been laid off from the job he left to start, but he just recently got a new job offer, so things are looking up for him) and while we were chatting my uncle called me back and left a message like he forgot we talked. Very weird.
I’ll be at my parents’ tomorrow, not gonna do anything about it until then, but kind of worried
Also now wondering if the people who left last week had super secret early retirement offers
I am surprised that he wasn’t also a surgeon
He is a surgeon who does minimally invasive repair, like to the torn cartilage in my hip (which is why I picked him). He just doesn't do full hip replacements, which is fine — everyone has a specialty — and I would have been okay with our interaction if he didn't answer my following questions by barking "Arthritis!"
Seems weird that he didn’t show you the MRI or talk about it at all, too. Why bother to do it?
Now listening to the Midnight Burger live drop. Not concentrating enough to really follow what’s happening but it’s pleasant to have on

Different kind of Jackhole than I was originally picturing! Still, this sounds very frustrating
My knee orthopedist is fucking awesome.

We listened tonight, too! I love the Mucklewains so much.

But a jackhole nonetheless.

I hope I can eventually find a hip orthopedist who's awesome. Or at minimum, not a jackhole.

Oh, yay, Mucklewains! I have missed them. Something to look forward to today.
Roll them double nickels and send out a cheer for msbelle's birthday today! AI tells me that the spiritual meaning of 55 relates to change, freedom, and fulfillment in life. Sounds like a plan. I hope you are being spoiled today and that the coming year is all that you hope for and more.

Assuming he's 70+ I'd check that sucker for a UTI. Then maybe elevated Ammonia levels. Ask me how I know! I've recently begun to wonder what percentage of older people assumed to have dementia have one of those.
Usually they are surgery, surgery, surgery. With certain specialties I feel like the PAs and NPs are doing so much emotional lifting for the surgeon (source, I have worked for 20 years helping NPs to assist surgeons). Sometimes the stereotypes are real.
According to an old roommie of mine who is a surgical tech Dr. Oz is great and communicative, everybody loves the guy, and if you need a surgery he performs get him if you can. So... back to surgery, Dr. Oz. Fucking do THAT!
