I recall marveling at a young age after my dad died that everything just... keeps happening. How weird, but true. And it's kind of a freash realization each time. Couches still need to get delivered, and when you get on the plane is when you get on the plane. Go easy on yourself.

Yeah. I think weirder because I'm home? When my mom died, I was there, at their house, so like, things were kind of on hold for me until I went home, and I had a few days of weird at their house (and fighting with my brother) whereas this time I'm just....at home keeping on keeping on.

meara, the morning my father died I went into the SF office as usual and one of my favourite colleagues asked me, "Are you all right? You seem a little thinkier than usual," and I just sort of looked at her and said, "My father passed away this morning." Her response was, "What are you even doing here?" and I had to say, "Most of the people who care about me are here. If I fall over, they'll catch me."

Obviously, your work situation may be different. But everyone does this a little differently, and what is right for you is right for you. We love you, and we will support you no matter what you need to do.
