We’ve got pumpkin roasted, a head of cauliflower in the oven, and tempeh in “jerk” marinade (not up to real Caribbean standards, I’m sure) ready for its turn. Should be good.

There's cream and butter and cheese involved so I'm hoping that works.

We had a holiday brunch with a couple of friends, and now DH and I are watching Babe, which he has never seen (WHAT). Tomorrow we are having Christmas dinner at my cousin's a couple of towns over.

I came home from Christmas Eve at my mom's house with a migraine with vertigo, which is no fair. But the Ubrelvy worked overnight and my noggin feels normal this morning, hooray!

I'm the only one up. But I've had a slice of cherry pie and have coffee so I'm not fussed.

I woke up and realized I hadn't wrapped the potatoes, so I got right on that.

We had tremendous roaring winds and rain last night, but the storm has passed and I can see blue skies. I'm sure there are a lot of trees and branches down though.

It's in the 70s here in Texas, which isn't surprising, but it'd be nice to have a chill in the air at least. On the other hand, at least I didn't spin out in the snow on my way back to Houston this year.(I was fine, the car was just dented a bit.)

We’re under a flood watch until tomorrow evening but it isn’t raining right now, and it’s gusty but not high winds, so mom is doing her usual Thursday morning phenology at the meadow. Dad took a tumble on the stairs last night (answering the flood alert phone call) so he’s sitting down with ice packs on the injured parts. He thinks nothing’s broken, hope that is correct. Planning on going out for Chinese or Indian food, whatever we can find open, later

Oh my god, last night my cousin brought a cherry pie she made with morello cherries, and it was legitimately the best cherry pie I've ever had. My soul briefly left my body.

My mom and stepdad are planning on the Indian buffet for today, and I am so jealous. I might need to get some Indian tomorrow.

We'll go up to Tim's brother and sister-in-law's house later on today, which will be a house full of kids, but still delightful. And I am for fucking sure not working tomorrow.

Oh! Completely unplanned, Tim and I gave each other heart-themed jewelry for Christmas. I always get an Ava gift (jewelry, hair clips, clothes), and this year was a bracelet with 2 intertwined hearts. And Tim gave me Pride heart earrings, so we both got each other double heart jewelry.
