Natter 78: I might need to watch some Buffy for inspiration
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place.
Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Test~ma for all. Hope all goes well with the colonoscopies. Matt, yeah, do the tests, and find it was just a one-off related to sedation.
Hugs to ltc. It is a bad time to be out of school when they are doing the fun stuff.
I did the artery scans a couple days ago because of my crap cholesterol. I don't expect issues.
Good luck Matt! And Pix I hope you get to enjoy yummy post colonoscopy food. I was so hungry by that point…
I am officially alone here for the next week or so (tbd when I’m leaving, thinking maybe the 27th?) but I’m still working today, Monday, and Tuesday.
Matilda returned last night from Santa Cruz where she'd been with her beau. Looks like he'll be joining us for xmas as he did for Thanksgiving.
My friend Jes continues to do a drag show at the bookstore where she works, and it was really fun last night with everybody working off the theme of Dickens' Christmas Carol. Jes was Ghost of Xmas Present and looked very fab (if unnerving with her white contact lenses in), swanning about to Siouxsie's "Dear Prudence."
One of the bookstore clerks did her very first drag performance and just killed it. So fun.
And tonight Jes and I will be going to a much more professional event seeing Jinx Monsoon and Ben De La Creme's holiday show.
Happy scoping, Pix. Now that the yuck part is over, it's super easy, as I'm sure you know.
Yep, easy peasey. The last one I had was 25 years ago, and the sedation meds destroyed me; SO much better this time. Just woke up, and apparently everything was normal; no cancer and no polyps. Yay! The doc has promised me pill prep next time to avoid the vomiting.
Matt, so sorry to hear about the AFIB! I hope it ends up being easily fixable.
She did not miss her concert which was Wednesday. She is missing ugly sweater day. There is more fun things next week. So, I’m hoping she’s better by Monday.
Huzzah for clean scope!!!
Poor LTC! I hope she feels better soon.
Thanks Jen. Yeah, I never noticed any irregular rhythms previously and only racing heartbeat during strenuous exertion or panic attacks, so this is a new one on me. I felt absolutely fine and normal upon waking up, so hopefully it's not serious or having dangerous effects on my system.
I found out I have periods of pretty dramatic tachycardia (like going up to 220 for no reason at all for a few minutes) when I was hospitalized after gall bladder surgery. I never felt a thing. Its controlled now with medication and we monitor with tests a few times a year. It has not caused me any problems, but in time it could have caused damage. Basically, I lucked out.
Here's hoping its nothing! If not, here's hoping you dodge a bullet with a pill at bedtime.
I thought I was having a good braining day after breezing through my puzzles, then I proceeded to pour vanilla coffee creamer over my cereal instead of milk. I wasn't going to waste the cereal after I had already added berries and nuts, so I downed it, and let's just say not doing that again. Way too sweet.
Since I clearly am a danger to myself and others, I have spent the rest of the morning/afternoon marathoning Graham Norton reels. I suppose I could try and do something productive now.
Tachycardia solidarity represent! I showed up to a routine physical with a resting heart rate of 133 a few months ago, so it's meds for me, as well. Good news is I'm down to high 80s/low 90s now. Bad news is if I get up too fast, my head swims.
Headed to the doc this afternoon for my now-monthly checkup. Still not used to having a PCP who is visibly in his early thirties; makes me feel a bit old. But he's a sweet soul and he listens to me, which is a damn sight better than the last one.
