Yeah, I get that holidays and hiring are non-mixy things. It’s just been weird. I’ve had more interview action in the past two weeks than in the previous two months. I think people were hoping to get stuff wrapped up by the end of the year and are running into, “What do you mean Bob from HR is already on vacation?” Which is frustrating for everyone except, presumably, Bob.
Oh well. I’m going with my sister to Waupun, WI, tomorrow so we can catch my great-niece’s dance recital. I’m looking forward to not sending out a single goddamn résumé for three days. And seeing my great-niece dance, of course.
So, I came across a recipe for "Lobster Roll Mac and Cheese with Brioche Crumb" that calls for something called Lemon Dill Mayo Butter and I felt like I needed to get the opinions of people who are more familiar with lobster rolls and the their ways than I am on that. Thoughts?
I wouldn't call myself a lobster roll expert, but Lemon Dill Mayo Butter sounds amazing.
I have never had a lobster roll... I would happily put Dill Mayo Butter on a lot of things, though.
Fuck. City came by trimming trees the last two days and absolutely butchered the tree in front of my house.
The whole canopy over the front of the house and the cover for my downstairs neighbor is gone.
It's about half the size it was before.
As you may recall, I had a professional arborist trim it back earlier this year.
So infuriating.

I was going to say, authenticity be damned I want some of that on everything.
David, oh no!!
City came by trimming trees
They trimmed the sidewalk side, not just the street side?
They trimmed the sidewalk side, not just the street side?
Both sides.
And I just had it trimmed!
They pruned branches up ten feet higher on the trunk.
How ugly does it look? Imagine Cher getting a bowlcut.
That sucks, Hec. I'm sorry.
Here's the relevant part of the recipe:
Lemon Dill Mayo Butter
2 tablespoons melted butter, slightly cooled
2 tablespoons full-fat mayonnaise
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon chopped dill
Pinch of salt
Make the Lemon Dill Mayo Butter
Whisk melted butter (cooled slightly), mayo, lemon zest, lemon juice, dill, and salt.
It's drizzled over the baked and broiled for color mac and cheese (that has lobster meat folded in and topped with brioche breadcrumbs that were toasted with Old Bay)
