this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I guess he’s also Tavrok Stormbringer?

Ahahaha, Tavrok is awesome!

Same. Especially in the ep whe re e they meet. That accent. Yum.

I love when, in the episode where they meet again, Clementine asks "Did I make you American???"

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That was so funny!

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Biopsy~ma for your mother, erikaj.

My holiday calendar is really filling up. I went to a holiday party at my nephew’s friend’s place Saturday, I’m running over to my niece’s place in WI for her daughter’s dance recital this coming weekend, then some holiday lights thing at a local renfaire and a college theater Christmas Carol performance the following week, and a Christmas Eve party at my nephew’s in-laws. If I had a job on top of this I’d be exhausted.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Lots of activity at my bird feeder this morning.

The reds: house finch, cardinal, red-bellied woodpecker

The blues: blue jays, bluebirds

They are making the house sparrows and the dark-eyed juncoes look drab.

Squirrels are being a nuisance -- as always.

Birds, yay!

That is a lot, Calli. I hope it’s more fun than working!

I am weirdly shocked that a Buddy the Elf costume got twice as much as an Indiana Jones fedora at auction

Our wings are not tired.

My mom always had bird feeders (which would get batted at by bears!), but I have had cats for so many years it seemed a bad idea. In NY the cat goes outside so she has a bell to give fair warning to birds, which works great. Here she goes out on the balcony and only a couple birds have been stupid enough to land in reach.

Mostly I see seagulls, pelicans, parrots, and doves here. Love the crazy noisy parrots, but I haven't seen a lot recently.

Fairly busy week here. Getting tires this morning, then need to visit my MIL at rehab this afternoon. Tomorrow off to Bonita Springs to finish the house buying stuff which is becoming a hassle. Wednesday Book Club. Thursday going to ride in transport with MIL to her follow up visit with surgeon so I can ask questions. Friday, my doctor stuff. I really need to work on the more fun on the calendar part.

Yeah, that's a poor task to fun ratio! You need to work on that. Or...not work at it, but relax into it.

Monday morning, no Pilates as I let my stitches heal.

I got to see my friend Eleanor yesterday at Borderlands, the bookstore where she used to work and we became friends. She and her DH and new baby are moving to Atlanta in a two weeks so it's bittersweet. She's terrible at staying in touch and hates not only social media but texting, so it will basically be the end of my knowing her.

I'll see her one more time this week as I drop some stuff off at her house.

I mean, I'll still send her snail mail in Georgia, but I used to see her several times a week for several years. It's like losing a good work friend and our culture doesn't recognize or acknowledge that kind of loss.

My friends at the comic book store are going to be leaving soon too, so that's a pretty big hit to my parasocial network.

Some other losses our culture doesn't properly honor: when a favorite bookstore (or comic book store) closes, when your favorite DJ leaves, or worse, the station suddenly changes format, when your favorite player is traded off your team, when they cancel Firefly after one season.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I got my reuben! It's snowing here again, so before it started coming down hard we made a grocery run and then stopped at Arby's, which has a perfectly respectable reuben.
