I got out of the house very early and walked through a quite cold Panhandle to the bakery to get a croissant and treats for my neighbor. Decided to hit up Faletti Market, which specializes in...Legacy Groceries? Venerable old brands often from foreign lands?

Anyway, EM was complaining that she couldn't find Crown Prince Smoked Oysters anymore and Voila! I scored some at Faletti's for her xmas stocking. And I also nabbed Matilda's fav, the British candy bar, Crunchie.

I've made good progress on stuffing stockings, and most of the Nick and Nora pjs are rolling in with the mail.

I picked up some seed packages for stocking stuffers!

I'm having friends over tonight, so there's an apple galette on the counter, and I have pizza dough in the fridge. Hope everything goes okay and the dog doesn't jump on anyone...

It snowed here yesterday.(Apparently it's on the early side for this area for first snow) Not much, and it was all melted by noon today, but still, snow.

Ordered some Bluetooth earbuds. I had been meaning to do that for a while, but with two virtual meetings on Monday during work hours where I will have to take them in the stairwell, it's a good idea.(Neither are work related.)

We went to see the South Florida Symphony Christmas concert tonight. First half was various popular Christmas music, including an awesome You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch sung by their incredible baritone. Then a number of religious sing-alongs, which I had extensive experience with as a Catholic schoolgirl. Great participation from the full house. The second half was Handel's Messiah, which I found uplifting, and my son and husband endured on my behalf. All in all, a good time was had by all. As is typical for South Florida events, the women were dressed up, and the men were casual. One amusing couple where she was in a gown and he was in shorts, slides, and a jacket over his polo shirt. It was pretty much everyone doing their own thing, which is nice.

Yessss! But it is kind of maddening being all caught up and having to wait for each episode now. Like waiting for weekly TV episodes, or GRRM's books.

Right? I just listened to the most recent again, because I had a hankering. Meanwhile, I would recommend Wolf 359 (completed series) and Desert Skies (in final season) as between meal snacks.

Wolf 359 has two character voices that are hard to tell apart for me, but it doesn't really matter that much. Goes from light to heavy but emotionally involving with a couple of good character arcs.

Desert Skies is amazing in that the writer also voices ALL the characters, and they are so distinct from each other, and he's a great voice actor. Story is less dense and deftly intricate than Midnight Burger but still engaging. Seriously, though, worth it for the voice acting.

I’m planning on checking out Shift Notes and Hwat and whatever else they’ve got on the Patreon once I get to that point. I feel like that will last me a while but I also feel like I’m catching up to the main show pretty fast, so who knows? I’ll probably join the Discord but never visit it like I do all the other Discords I have joined…

I keep meaning to check out Shift Notes and Hwat, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I need to find out if the voice actor for Terrick of York does other podcasts, because I would listen to that man read the phone book.
