Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I will admit, I felt pretty smug when Zi got it. But then I needed the hints to get the other one.

I thought I was working the outlet sale 2-6 today but it was 10-2, which I discovered at 9:55. Fortunately it’s 5 minutes from my house, but I had been leisurely futzing about and hadn’t even had breakfast or coffee. The good news is I’m done with that until next week, I guess. When I am again on 10-2, but hopefully I will remember that!

Having an Earl Grey Espresso Tonic with lunch because all the individual components sound good but fully assembled I’m not sure about it

Stella Splendens was, in fact, hella good. And I finally watched Superman, yay! So I started Peacemaker. Not sure how I feel about that one yet

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Stella Splendens was, in fact, hella good.

It's so delightful!

And I finally watched Superman, yay!

Hey, we watched that last night, too! The world was saved not by Superman, but by Jimmy Olsen's inhuman rizz.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary got back last night, and picked up Mr. S this morning. He's staying here O/N and tomorrow he and Gary are going to visit a couple of possible schools.

Our wings are not tired.

I hope the school visits go well and that you have a good option.

It was a weekend of good, bad, ugly, and uglier here. I got over to Bonita Springs and helped my son organize his new home. It came out cute. As his aunt and I finished making his bed, with adorbs cow patterned sheets another aunt gifted him, I did note that it was likely the last time it would be made. But still it went well.

We found out that our friends in Jamaica survived, but it isn't good. As expected, they stayed in the home. The roof tore off and the walls collapsed. Their gas station/store survived and is the only one functional in the area. Son is okay, but the mom is pretty much non-verbal and in shock. We didn't get a lot of information so I don't know if the other sons have taken her back here or what the plan is at this point. I'm sure they will rebuild the family home, but that is not happening soon.

Our Uncle Gordy is back in the hospital, which is a whole long story, but hopefully his arteries will be repaired. AND my MIL is in the hospital after falling and probably breaking her hip. This was last night so I haven't had the update this morning yet.

As is not a surprise to me, DH is more upset about the Dems caving on the shutdown that the rest of it, although he is plenty upset by the rest of it too.

Happy Monday all!

eta: Yes, MIL's hip is broken and surgery is Wednesday after they do the clearance stuff. I hope they keep her in rehab a long time because all she does is watch tv at home.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sheesh, that's a lot, Laura. I'm also pissed at the Dem defectors.

I'm ready for AOC to oust Shumer.

Did my Monday morning Pilates, grudgingly, trudgingly. But it was a good class and I was thinking about how much I like not only my teachers there but the community of my fellow classmates. We're all in there early in the week trying to get better.

Our teacher was pushing us into Intermediate level exercises and dang, just when you feel like you've mastered one basic level, it's hard as fuck at the next one.

Whenever you feel complacent in Pilates they have a million ways to make it more challenging.

But there's no denying the strength and flexibility I have now compared to when I started.

Our glorious Indian Summer October weather has rolled over into November (so far). But I am completely flummoxed by DSL this year. The darkness feels so deep and so early! It's messing with me.

At 8pm I'm actively wondering what to do to stay up until 10:30 (bedtime).

Good grief, Laura, that is a whole lot. Virtual hugs and whatever else you need. Whisky?

I'm at the doctor's for a four week ankle follow-up. I expect it to be, "Yep. It's healing." Hoping I can switch to a less cumbersome than the boot option, but whatevs.

I assume the Dems believe they have some sort of strategy behind this--I don't see it as eight random defections. I don't particularly have a lot of faith in their strategizing, generally, so, you know... don't have anything to say, really.

Fuckin' timeline. And it's just getting worse.

I guess, the good news is gay marriage is still a.k.a. marriage.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, at least they didn't strike down marriage.

I get that they think that the spiking health insurance costs will help next November. I'm actually surprised they held out this long. They clearly didn't hear the voices that came out in droves to the polls last week. They just went and pissed off the entire progressive wing of the party once again.

I didn't realize that Kim Davis was going to have to pay a fortune in fines for her refusal to issue marriage licenses until I read more about it this morning. Icing on that cake.
