Hi, people. Zenkitty is here. Otherwise, I don't know WTF is going on.

My rant for the day is that the oncologist says that my only options are on an IV forever or slow death. She seems fine contemplating a slow death surrounded by my loved ones, presumably surrounded by angels I, on the other hand would rather be found at home alone. She consulted a nephrologist, who thinks that my system is still overloaded and I need to avoid plain water and eat half a shaker of salt a day. Said oncologist for the day, "she can't do that. It would taste terrible." Taste terrible versus living out my life on an IV? How is that even a choice?" The only way to do that in the hospital over the weekend is to cadge Gatorade and salt from the kitchen. I am doing that and eating all the bacon. We see what happens tomorrow.

Wow, Ginger. I'm so glad Zenkitty is there!

Good luck with the Gatorade, salt and bacon - sounds like a good plan to me and I don't much like the other choices as presented. Oncologist needs to not presume she knows what you need wrt quality of life, sounds like.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm glad Zenkitty is there for you. Soups are often salty. Is that an option for you?

Any reason I should keep the mortgage payment stubs and maintenance payments stubs of the co-op I sold 5 years ago?

Salty soups, bacon, a good excuse for country ham, fresh tomatoes, plus I've always liked plenty of salt on raw veggies. I think the large amount would only be until my tissues recover.

I have the letter saying the mortgage balance is zero. I'll keep that.

Boullion cubes might be a good idea. Nice mug of salty broth any time you want one. Or as directed. Whichever is more appropriate.

I never had a cup of tea today. Weird. I feel like I should report on my lunch, though, because it was delish - warm brussels sprouts salad with bacon, shallots, and a poached egg, an "Eastern Spices Gin & Tonic" (I don't recall what all was in it, but it was good, looked like maybe cardamom and peppercorns and basil?), and for dessert orange custard topped with cranberry compote and cardamom whipped cream. So good, and I can probably approximate most of it at home.
