We shop mostly at Aldi & Kroger. There are Albertsons and Tom Thumb closish. Also Target and Walmart superstores. Then further is Whole Food and Market Street (which is upscale something). Then further away TJs and Central Market (which is upscale HEB). There is a Walmart neighborhood market going in right around the corner from my house where I could walk to, but I refuse to shop at Walmarts of any kind unless an emergency.
Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
We drive about 15-20 minutes to shop at a Meijer, because the prices are WAY better than Kroger. And once or twice a month we stock up at TJs.
Our neighborhood is a food desert -- the only grocery store (which was a really crappy Save-A-Lot) closed a couple of years ago. And the shitty thing is that the neighborhoods immediately to the north and to the south are ALSO food deserts. Ridiculous.
But we're really close to having a grocery co-op go in where the Save-A-Lot was. The organizers have worked so hard to get the co-op off the ground. Lots of fundraising -- both to get people to buy in as owners and to get loans for renovating the Save-A-Lot building, etc. I can't wait until it opens. It's a great co-op model economically, too. Our neighborhood really needs this.
A guy from your grocery co-op was at my class on Friday. I mentally waved pom-poms for him (because it would have been unprofessional to physically wave pom-poms.)

It sounds like the Clifton Market is really close to hitting their goal, too. Our neighborhoods really need those grocery stores.
I am not sure I am strong enough to overcome the do not want this morning.
I shop King Soopers (part of Kroger) and Trader Joes. We also have a Walmart Neighborhood Market nearby. Plus Costco, though I've let me membership lapse.
The do not want is strong here too, Lee. Tomorrow we are due 10 inches of snow and 50 mph winds. I need to open the wind map later today to watch the craziness. I'm ok with earthquakes, thunder/lightening, blizzards (as long as I'm snug at home) but crazy wind scares me big time.
I shop mainly at Kroger and an Arkansas employee-owned market chain Harps (depending on whether I want good cheese/deli and ice cream selections or noodle soups and cheap household goods). But a new organic grocery just opened up with awesome blue cheese and lunch counter sandwiches, so my luxuries budget is going to be spent there.

Same, same. At least I'm making some progress on clearing out my in-box? It's not nearly the most important thing I could be doing, but it's better than just staring at the wall like I would like to.
I called in sick, or working from home, at least. I'm not really markedly sicker than I've been for the last couple of weeks, just stuffed up and rundown, but didn't want to get up this morning.
I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, and that partly was due to the fact that it was cold enough in my apartment to turn on the heat.
