"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

If you like Pinot Grigio, try Viognier.

Viognier's a good choice or a Sauvignon blanc or one of the drier Reislings.

Our wings are not tired.

Flea, I'd try a New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. They've been my go to for the last couple of years. I dislike oak and dislike sweet in my whites, and the NZ SVs are a wee bit grassy and taste like bright pears. Good luck!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Gruner Veltliner! I guess I like to drink it, but mostly I like to say it.

Good luck moving askye!!! Good luck moving your father, Jilli!! Moving is the absolute worst.

My weekend plans are minimal -- some leaf-sweeping, dad, housework, nothing special.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

New Zealand Sauvignon blanc.

The only sauvignon blancs I like are from the Marlborough region of New Zealand. I know that's oddly specific, but sauvignon blancs from anywhere else are too grassy for my palate.

Human variation: WEIRD.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Jesus, something is happening in Paris.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I eventually escaped the hell of Cox & Kings, my god. I waited forever, but once I actually got to the counter, my visa paperwork was all in order and it took about two minutes. PROPER PREPARATION, WOO. I should get my passport back in 5-7 business days.

I stopped at the grocery store and will be putting beef in a crock pot to roast the rest of the day.

Edit re Paris: Holy shit!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sauvignon blancs have become my go to white. Chardonnays are hit and miss - the ones I like I really like, but the others I really don't. (Pouilly-Fuisse, btw, is chardonnay. They vary A LOT but determining which are the ones you like requires trying maybe too many of the ones you don't ime)

Oh, I can consult my wine database. White wines that I have noted as "look for more": verdelho (although my notes mention that it is a "perfect summer white"), sauvignon blanc, chardonnay. I think I liked the albarino also, but I haven't actually opened the bottle I bought, just tried it at the co-op, and another bottle I opened recently that I bought that day I didn't even want to drink, so my judgement on that occasion is suspect. I have a roussanne marked as "too sweet" but I don't know if that's all roussannes - the label called it "the sauvignon blanc of chardonnays" fwtw.

I like my whites not very sweet at all and there's a particular taste that I have not been able to describe other than I really dislike it.

I'm glad I can drink reds because I generally like them much better.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Shootings in Paris seem unbelievable. I'm finding myself echoing shrift with her Holy Shit!

White wines for winter: I like dry reislings, Alsatian in particular can be very yum. But I also like chardonnay, so my taste may not mesh with yours.
