Supposedly I'm moving. We haven't left yet. We haven't finished packing. Mostly because I'm getting so overwhelmed I keep shutting down but also Mom and I keep butting heads over what of my stuff I don't want to take. I have been long past the point where if it's not packed I just want to throw it out but I shouldn't fir various reaso5. And now all that's left is random inexpensive crappie I want to thow out inste5of spending time finding something to pack stuff in since we ran out of boxes.
Also I haven't spent more than 5 hours with one person in about 5 months so dealing with that transition is hard.
Good luck, askye. At least you're in the home stretch -- the end should be in sight.
I know it's hard askye. You will get through this, and you will be moved.
Am I the only one who remembers that within the last year we published an article about the massive decrease in deaths from opioid overdose in states with legal medical marijuana??? We're going to look like asses. I guess I should mention this to my boss when I return the editorial.
I'm also wondering if the claim that pot doesn't have proven therapeutic effects is due to the lack of controlled studies. I don't know if that's true, though.
I hope I'm not chiming in way too late since I've been conferencing with students for over an hour, but wanted to say I'm with you in that the unspoken agenda here seems to be there's no reason to change the status of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule II but in fact there's all sorts of reasons, the most important being the need to have proper studies on it to see what, if any, medical properties it might have.
Oh, askye, I'm sorry. Packing and moving sucks so mightily, even when it's a necessary thing for a good reason; it's still just brutal.
Ugh askye, I feel for you. If it's any help, I am a strong proponent of throwing out the random inexpensive crap instead of packing it. You can always buy more later.
Doesn't everyone hit that point, when moving, where you just want to burn everything left? Best of luck, askye
Checked out a couple coworking spaces with a friend this morning. She looked at another yesterday (which was apparently gorgeous but overpriced). Could be fun. Now we are going to try to plan a trip. Not sure we want to do the same things though.

Yeah, I think that's part of the process.
This weekend: horror movie night tonight. Saturday, helping Dad move, which I'm laughably hoping won't be too stressful. Sunday, dealing with the basement, which will almost certainly flood due to the heavy rain we're getting the next few days.
Pete is in Atlanta, so I am dealing with all of this on my own. Whee.
