If you'd cooked those pancakes thoroughly, they wouldn't have been able to follow you into the woods.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I suspect it will be savory bread pudding with sausage and kale. That'll be tasty.

Mmm...one of my favorites! We often have that for Christmas breakfast.

Yes! DVR is working well enough for me to offload recordings while I watch Hulu. Today is looking up.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

trying to edit this thing for my brother, but it's SO BORING. Also kind of jargony, so it's hard to understand what he means, which makes it extra hard to edit.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I want to have Christmas breakfast with Jesse. Our Christmas morning breakfast is pretty set: coffee, bacon, and cinnamon rolls. Plus scrambled eggs for sustenance.

I'm watching Scandal and peeling turnips in preparation for an attempt at hash. (1) marital privilege, or whatever it's called, doesn't work like that, does it? And (b) I pricked my thumb with the peeler, got blood all over my turnips. Which will wash off, but do I need to be on the lookout for something wicked now?

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh, -t, I had no idea there was such a thing that could save video from a dvr--ours urped on its way to ded this past summer, and I had whole seasons of shows saved I'd been unable or not in the mood to watch real time...all gone. I'll just wait and hope Netflix eventually runs them.

A whole swarm of people just descended on a neighbor house. The woman who's lived there since we moved in has always been a recluse--she even took the house number off--blinds always drawn, no visitors, etc. They've scurried in and out this afternoon in coveralls, masks, and rubber gloves, hauling out trashbags and piling them into a van and a pickup truck bed. H says he saw her on Friday--evidently she's moved to AL and left her house to be cleared out. BTDT for my mom's house, don't want to do it again, even for family.

But! While H ffs through Broncos vs. Colts, I'm reading fic on the couch in my new plaid fleece indoor pants, chasing fresh-baked wheatless (rice bran, rice and oat flour) peanut butter chocolate chip cookies with a crisp Fuji. Right now, life's pretty good.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Our DVD player is broken which makes Noah and Grace extremely sad because they can't watch Star Wars. But, as they are children, they are content with Clone Wars.
