It's spring!

Oh ack. Not even worth going into, but I just had a super awkward conversation with an administrator about something I said in my class that a student misinterpreted. Totally my fault and it's all good, but I'm left feeling totally embarrassed. I hate feeling ooky.
Lying on the floor and whining is not an appropriate reaction to sleep dep, I know this. But my G-D, I want to.
Aaaaand I just remembered that I still need to write the email to folks about a group b-day present for the Adorable One. (He turns 50 this month.) Maybe tonight I will have a brain and command of words so I can do that.
Timelies all!
It's gray and rainy here. Also, it's Pi Day, and I have no pie. In short, bleah.
While I have strong feelings about the Democratic candidates, I have no intention of voting for the Republican candidate, regardless of which Dem picks up the nomination. There's just way too much at stake and beyond that, the idea of rewarding the Republicans for deciding to arbitrarily block any nomination Obama makes to the Supreme Court (after spending the last 8 years dragging their feet over all the other nominations he's made) is appalling.
I have no pie, but feel strangely compelled to bake. However what I want to bake is this recipe for peanut butter blondies with chocolate chips. I may make it in a pie pan and pretend, just so's I have a good excuse.
For you frequent air travelers, have a look at this:

You can plot a route and cache data, so that it can be used in flight without needing a wifi connection.
Versions for both Android and Apple.
For the strategic voting thing, what happens if Kasich wins Ohio, but then drops out of the race in a few weeks? Who gets those votes then?
And it's snowing at Rush Hour. Taking the long way home again.
Confession: I spent the last 20 years bitching about how, with primaries in mid-June, everything was decided before we got to have a say. And this year they moved our primary up to tomorrow and I FEEL YOU, ALL OF YOU WHO HATE THE ADS AND THE NASTINESS AND THE WHY WON'T IT JUST STOP ALREADY.
Plus the small fact that ever since the we-hate-obama redistricting fiasco of 2010, I pretty much want to cockpunch all of NC politics straight to the moon. Because these jackholes keep arguing with a straight face that it makes TOTAL sense for a state with a consistent 51/49 party split statewide to have a 10/3 split in congress? And a 25/3 split in the state senate?* Naw, jackholes, try again.
I will vote Hillary tomorrow, because reasons, although I was genuinely on the fence until the last few days (and even then, the Reagan/AIDS fuckup made me almost reconsider). I think Bernie being in this race is amazing and wonderful and has pulled the issues to the left even better than I hoped for when I thought he didn't stand a chance, but I also think she's a brilliant practical politician, and I want her to win so bad it hurts.
I have a sneaking suspicion that my dad might feel the Bern at the last minute, as he's an old 60s civil rights geezer, and Bernie is basically EXACTLY THE SAME PERSON as all of dad's friends and family. Mum is Team Hillz all the way, and has been waiting for this since her first consciousness-raising session.
In-laws are every bit as hardcore Republican as my parents are hardcore Dem, and I'm actually starting to wonder if MIL would sit out the election if Trump gets the nom. I hope she's at least voting Kasich out of Ohio loyalties rather than Cruz.
