Fans of Nathan Hale should definitely check out the graphic novel series Nathan Hale's Hazardous tales, by a guy whose real name is also Nathan Hale. My kids love them. He even made World War I comprehensible for 9 year olds. (There are bunnies.)

ION, remember that job? I wrote politely yesterday to withdraw from the search. The new chair of the committee wrote back to ask me to reconsider. Heh. (No.)

Good on ya, flea. Very sensible.

Well, I have been waiting for five hours for Kaiser to call me back. JOY.

Back to reposting old fic snippets to AO3! If anyone cares: [link]

And yay, bitching about Kaiser caused the phone to ring.

But my cell is still misbehaving: I just had six texts arrive at once. Bah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, don't get a Moto G is what you're saying?

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy Birthday Tom!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Why is my customer sending me new orders on Friday afternoon? WHY?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Because they are bullshit and don't believe in happiness?

Sounds right.

The second half of my work day was flippin' annoying, I tell you what. But now I am home and ready to have some wine and sit by the fire. Wine at 4 pm is perfectly acceptable, yes?

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Wine at 10 am would have been acceptable today.

Our bid response for the state of MD went out priority overnight on Wednesday. It was due at 1 pm yesterday. Guess who delivered it today? FedEx. "Weather problems at its hub in Memphis." Uncounted man-hours of work spanning one month, wrangling cats from all different parts of the business, and at least one weekend's worth of work down the drain. We've appealed, but I don't have much faith. The regs are pretty clear on what happens in these instances.

And then I find out my CSR sat on a vehicle replacement FOR ONE MONTH. I emailed telling her to move forward with it on 9 Feb. That's the extent of my involvement; shit's supposed to get done without me babysitting it. Purchasing comes back and asks why the vehicle is still where it was a month ago. Her response? Oh, I forgot. Not today, people. Not today. But yeah, it was all today. I was ready to make the red wedding look like a fairytale come true. And now I get to have a talk with her director. I'm tired of the mistakes.

But I love you all, and I appreciate the fact that I can vent here.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have actual vertigo, you guys. I wasn't expecting that. I assume it's related to my sinuses/allergies. But it's annoying and keeping me basically stuck on the couch.
