Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Wine at 10 am would have been acceptable today.

Our bid response for the state of MD went out priority overnight on Wednesday. It was due at 1 pm yesterday. Guess who delivered it today? FedEx. "Weather problems at its hub in Memphis." Uncounted man-hours of work spanning one month, wrangling cats from all different parts of the business, and at least one weekend's worth of work down the drain. We've appealed, but I don't have much faith. The regs are pretty clear on what happens in these instances.

And then I find out my CSR sat on a vehicle replacement FOR ONE MONTH. I emailed telling her to move forward with it on 9 Feb. That's the extent of my involvement; shit's supposed to get done without me babysitting it. Purchasing comes back and asks why the vehicle is still where it was a month ago. Her response? Oh, I forgot. Not today, people. Not today. But yeah, it was all today. I was ready to make the red wedding look like a fairytale come true. And now I get to have a talk with her director. I'm tired of the mistakes.

But I love you all, and I appreciate the fact that I can vent here.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I have actual vertigo, you guys. I wasn't expecting that. I assume it's related to my sinuses/allergies. But it's annoying and keeping me basically stuck on the couch.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Argh, Maria.

ETA And Tep! Bah to vertigo.

It's super weird! I really did think my sinus issues were better; I wasn't avoiding the doctor just to avoid antibiotics. But I think the vertigo is sinus-related (all my upper teeth started hurting about 45 minutes ago, which is a definite BAD SINUS sign), so I'll call the doctor Monday, I promise.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Maria, that sucks. You've earned all the alcohol you want

And ugh Steph, vertigo is such a bummer.

Speaking of bummers, my headache wants to come back. It can go fork itself if you ask me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

BOGGLE.

WHOA. Oh, that's seriously messing with my mind, flea.

Serious ugh, Maria. It's one thing when stuff goes sideways and there was something you could have done about it, but when it is noways your fault, that's infuriating.

Yeah, Steph, call the freaking doctor. I have some ear problems at the moment, just due to the allergies, I think, but I am on Hyper Status Orange Alert for vertiginous symptoms.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Maria. I would be flying to Memphis under my own power to bust some heads.

Steph, I'm pretty sure antihistamines were the first thing they recommended when I had vertigo, so try that? (Assuming you're not full up already....)

I was about to say I wish I had wine, but I do have wine!

Our wings are not tired

I'm stressed out by a client that is being a bit crazy right now.

The latest is travel. I'm fine doing travel for my team by paying and then submitting for reimbursement, but you need to send me the list of what is acceptable for travel and how you want things submitted for approval. Also it helps if every email doesn't have a snotty sounding "as per your contract" reference in it. I get it, and I'm not arguing that, I'm just asking for some sort of rational procedure and I don't think that's too much to ask.

I may be due for some antihistamines, so I'll be glad to load up on them!
