Yeah, that's troubling.
Oh, man, this morning is already a bit too exciting for me. Nothing really of interest to people who aren't me (or who don't sit near me while working, anyway), which is really too bad. Stress that makes for a good story is more acceptable to me, I think.
Although my coworker across the way wants to bring "resplendent" back and that made for a fun conversation - he wanted to know when he was bringing it back from, so I googled and got it's 15th century origin, but not when it was in popular use. He suggested googling "when it was last in vogue" so I did exactly that and came up with a tweet from Vogue UK in 2012, but he claims that is not "in Vogue" so much as "by Vogue". Probably erinaceous could help with this.
Kill it back! Bludgeon it with a C38 tape dispenser, and then set it on fire!
Ha! I had to check - my tape dispenser is a C15, probably not suitable for bludgeoning.
Yay for Sparky's degrees and sarameg moving forward (sort of yay, anyway - it's on balance positive but applying for the job you have been doing is bittersweet at best, no?) and msbelle's trip prep!
OMG, that ostrich! Terrifying and hilarious.
Hope the own job applying goes smoothly, sarameg! Does this mean it's too late to review your resume? Or do you still need to submit that? I'm happy to do it, of course!!!
WGN America is not part of the channel lineup on Comcast here, so I'll have to wait until Underground appears online.
Work is stupid.
Dang, I knew ostriches were fast but I didn't know they could keep up that kind of pace for that long!
Quick break, because I let Kato out in the backyard: our maple tree has buds!!! You know how the Whos down in Whoville sing "Welcome Christmas" (dahoo dores)? That is how I feel about spring returning, every single year. Fahoo fores! Maple tree buds! It's going to be 70 here again today and I have the front door open while I work. It's magnificent.
Back to it.
I hope your new old position is set in stone soon, Sara.
We have some early cherry trees blooming, and peak is supposed to happen really early this year: March 27th or there about!
We have an accreditation inspection coming up, and one of the Deans is driving me nuts about some charts I prepared. I followed the directions, and he keeps adding in information they don't want and don't ask for because he thinks it makes us look better. It doesn't, it makes us look like we can't follow directions!
For our Buffista teachers, especially those in the LAUSD. I found this article eye-opening, and yet another check on my white privilege.

Oh good lord. Yesterday, my boss told me I'd be taking over all the Latin AMerica accounts (there have been two of us covering them, but the column hasn't really been enough to justify that) starting 4/1. I went to the other analyst this morning just to ask if there was anything she thought we really needed to go over before that happened and she was kind of taken aback, saying she hadn't heard anything official, which I agreed, this wasn't really official, I just wanted to check in with her. Now the official email has gone out and it says I'll be handling all of LATAM as of 3/14. How did that happen? It'll be fine, it really doesn't matter, but how did the timeline get moved up by over two weeks with no discussion whatsoever?
That reminds me, gotta make pies this weekend.

A Swingline 747 stapler also works well. I have a bright red one on my desk.
