This morning, I did a "due last Friday" task because the reminder popped up. Turns out, I actually did it last week!
...As did the rest of my team, and as a reward, the coordinator brought in the most delicious cookies. OMG. And I'm not just saying that because I haven't had many sweets in the past month.
Obviously Nashville has lost all phone and internet services, so we're just never going to hear whether or not husband got this job.

I think you're saying it to rub it in to those of us who have no delicious cookies, and no way of getting any because of a meeting in 5 minutes.
I am at the airport...on my way to Dallas, which feels pretty darn ordinary to me...but then I'll get on a flight to Santiago!! Eeeeeee! Managed to just barely fit everything in my backpack and my purse (at least, until I bought a bottle of water). Fingers crossed I don't have to check it at any point.
Gud, everyone has already spoken so eloquently, I will just add my support. Sending you strength.
And Steph, you were so eloquent you made me tear up a bit.
Woot meara! Have a wonderful trip!
Today's food truck is a baked potato truck. What brave new world, to have such wonders in it.

Here's the thing: It turns out they need three higher-ups to approve an offer, and two of them are traveling and one is in meetings all day. Or is that just my job?
Bon voyage, meara!

Oh, no, I'm sure. Or HR is holding it up. Or they can't get in touch with a reference. Or someone's out sick.
If they hadn't said they'd get back to him by Friday, I probably would not be quite this tense.
All of the above! Which is why I try not to give people a timeline ever, because god only knows what's actually possible.
