this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

He's awake and STILL TALKING.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I usually store my purse and lunch container on the spare chair in my office. When my coworker is coming in to meet, I clear off the chair. If she comes in and it turns out she needs to sit down, she just moves my purse and my lunch thing. Without asking. And puts them on the floor.

I realize this is not a big deal, but it really trips my no-touchy-my-stuff neurosis, and I find it kind of rude.

Huh. I'd do what your coworker does. But I might be rude. Though the logic is My Ass Trumps Your Stuff, which is the why people who occupy two seats on the train so they can have their bag on a seat get stinkeye.

Admittedly this is your office and your stuff, so it's not an exact correlation.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's not like I would refuse to move my stuff. I just don't get a chance to.

people who occupy two seats on the train so they can have their bag on a seat get stinkeye.

That's definitely rude.

I'm flying on Thursday to a con, and for some reason, the first-class tickets were not much more expensive than coach, so I splurged. I'm going to judge the people in coach as they walk by.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I would ask before moving stuff. I have a pretty high no-touchy-my-stuff thing myself, though.

First-class, woo!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I have a no touchy my stuff reaction, too, but if I know this is her thing, I'd *have* to gabble, "Justmovethatstuffontothe(desk/table/other chair/floor/best option)" before she managed to complete the maneuver, so I would retain the impression, if only to myself, of having conferred permission. Oh lord, I'm *that* person, who tells you to do the thing you were going to do anyway--I hate that person, I wind up then *not wanting* to do the thing I was going to do. I think I hate me.

All best thoughts for Dana and DH, Steph and bro, and Suela and dad.

Laura, how are things?

Everybody else feeling okay? Sniffles? Fever? General malaise? Sending better~ma, and for those of you doing fine, keep that up, m'kay?

brillig

It is a glorious late winter/early spring day. I love this time of year, though the lingering cold always annoys me. It's so wonderful to know *warm* is on the way and that *hot* is still a few months off.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I live with someone that puts stuff in chairs - and so I move stuff. but not sure I'd move other peoples stuff

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Dana, she's probably inferring your consent, since that's what you always do when she needs to sit down - maybe even thinking she's saving you the trouble of having to get up and do it yourself? But I get it, really (there was a guy in my chair talking to the guy in the next cubicle this morning - believe me I get it). I just find it helps me to write reasons and excuses to save myself from getting put out over stuff that isn't worth the agita.

Steph, Consuela, sorry you guys are going through these really rough patches. Much strength for you to get through.

Stepping away from Facebook for a couple hours, I think. A couple of normally intelligent people are posting the stupidest right-wingnuttiest bullshit this morning and I don't have it in me to engage right now, but I'm letting myself get really upset. So yeah, stepping away. (But seriously, someone posts thug-life bullshit with a Blacklivesmatter hashtag and you're calling out Obama? Really? And Democrats are against vaping? Democrats, the entire party? Are against vaping? What the actual hell, people?)

*Hugs lovely, sane, intelligent, sensible, reasonable friends in the glowy box tight (except for the ones who prefer a friendly wave from a distance that respects personal space, of course)*

Steph, how did the therapist go?

In my insane quest to run all the miles this year, I have 21.98 more miles to run this month. I have 7 more days to go. The likelihood of me reaching that milestone is not looking promising.
