Lydia: Its removal from Burma is a felony and when triggered it has the power to melt human eyeballs. Giles: In that case I've severely underpriced it.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

He will, yeah. He knows that this is serious, but he's trying to deal with it on his own. He's not pretending it isn't serious, but he currently believes that he doesn't need help.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wonder if it's worth planning a trip in a few weeks, just because? I mean, on the assumption that he will be fine and you'll have a good time together, but... just in case.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Man, I just about went over the counter at a convenience store clerk after he went on a long mocking riff about gay people and men acting like women with another customer. This may have been the first time he got called out about that by a 235 lb. man red-faced with anger and ready to knock teeth down his throat.

What a WTF moment, Matt. I get that some folks have socially retrograde opinions. I do not get how they think it's okay to share them in public.

He thought he had the store to himself and the old bigot grumbling about queers parking at the local lake until I slammed my drink down on the counter. But at least he did apologize for offending me after offering excuses about joking like that with his gay relatives all the time. Maybe seeing how close he came to a beatdown will make him consider that said relatives might not find the jokes as funny as he assumes.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Teppy, I wish I had something more than good vibes to offer. Much peace, love, and strength to you and your brother.

Matt, that's infuriating and I'm sorry that we collectively can't get our shit together to knock this crap off.

Sara, we're good. I always take you at face value, because I know that's how you are. My apprehension is more about me, and my fear that I'm always making every conversation about me to the exclusion of everyone else.

Good for you, Matt. Bad for him.
