My family is a telenovela.
Roughly 36 hours after mom has died and I had a phone call with my sister where she was melting down about her need to get everything, so that she can pay off debt on Mom's house, that she now considers her house and that I just need to sign all of it over to her.
At least I think that's what it was, there was a lot of crying and panic, and other things.
Am I surprised? Not really.
I was hopeful that I would be able to wait at least a few days before I called mom's financial advisor to find out what's the process on things, but I guess that's tomorrow, and then I suppose it's time to hire a lawyer.
Sigh.
Oh, Drew, I'm so sorry. That's terrible.
I'll be in a Tai Chi class tomorrow, Zen. Wherein I expect to realize that I have forgotten more than I expected since last week but maybe remember that that's okay, also. I hope you like it.
Ugh, ND. I feel you. I recommend you apply brown spirits if the shit starts to get oppressive.
I couldn't go to Tai Chi today but I should be able to get in a bonus class on Sunday. Also so happy to see so many folks starting up Tai Chi. Makes it feel more fun that we're doing it together.

I'm sorry about your mom, ND. I'm also sorry that this is happening, since my family has squabbled over estates and I know how fraught it can be. I do think a lawyer is a good idea, especially if you are an executor.
Oh jeez, ND. Good luck with that.
I've got to got my shit together, work-wise and probably otherwise as well. I'm just not being effective at work, and certainly not doing much outside of work. Maybe I should take a stand-up class!
We have given each other years of material, use it well Scrappy and anyone else brave enough to try.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive place to get glasses online? I lost my glasses last week, and my eye doctor is going to be closed until the end of March because a pipe burst. I was able to get a copy of my prescription, but I can't get the glasses made there. I have sunglasses for daytime driving, but I really should have a pair of regular glasses. I don't want to spend a lot on them because my prescription will probably change when I get my eyes checked sometime in April.
Zenni is the cheapest, I think. I've also gotten glasses from Coastal Contacts. And Warby Parker, cheaper than a glasses store but not exactly cheap.
