Natter 74: Ready or Not

When we moved Dad into memory care two weeks ago, we finally had to deal with Mom's china. So I took it, and tonight I reorganized my cabinets so I could fit Mom & her Mom's china in my glass-fronted cabinets.
Mom, why did you have twenty-one teacups? Seriously. Especially since this was a woman who was incapacitated by her insecurity: she NEVER hosted any formal gathering that would require twenty-one teacups.
So many teacups, and a creamer, and a sugar bowl, but no teapot. So I went online to see what it would cost to get a teapot: $500 for a teapot.
So, no teapot for me, I think. I'll get something cute on Etsy to match.
If you sold off some of the tea cups down to a reasonable number for you, would that get you the teapot?
Not worth it, I think. I just found a teapot on Etsy for $30 that will do well enough. I may farm some of the teacups and saucers out to my nieces, though. I don't even have room in my house for enough people to use all those teacups at one time.
I'm sorry, Drew

Whoa. That's shocking.
Mm, purple depression glass. So pretty.
And what a pretty pattern, 'Suela! The obvious conclusion is that your teacups will continue to multiply if you keep them all in the same cupboard. Perhaps having a teapot to keep an eye on them would keep them in check.
Ugh. TCG's car was hit was parked in the municipal parking lot of the town he works at for the second time this winter. Again, no note or acknowledgement from anyone that they hit the car. So, he's probably going to be out a deductible again.
Argh, sj. That's hardly fair.
He filed a police report, and the cop thinks it was a plow.
That should be covered by...something.
So, I'm working from home today, which was probably the right call as I am still a little achy and it took me much longer than usual to figure out how to make coffee so I am clearly not 100% functional. Unfortunately, I do have stuff I need to get done today and that will be a challenge because while I can work from home I'm not really set up for it and certainly not used to it (it's a lot of using Citric on my Mac laptop to do Windows things, it's just unsettling).
