We have to see the chimp playing hockey! That's hilarious! The ice is so slippery, and, and monkeys are all irrational. We have to see this!

I'd much rather work a regular graveyard shift - 11pm - 7am at one of my previous jobs than have to get up for work at 4am. Or even 6am.

Amen. Just this morning I was thinking "why do mornings suck so bad? Why do they just not get better?? They keep happening!!" ...the fact that I currently have a bit of a headache probably doesn't help any of this.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Going to the FSGW Mid-Winter Fest tomorrow. Mmm, folk music.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I just caught the tail end of my neighbors digging out from this surprise storm, and it was terrible! It was a few inches of slush under a few inches of snow, so heavy and gross, and everything will be an ice slick in the morning.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That doesn't sound good, Jesse. Hey, how did your salads hold up?

2+hour commute, yikes! Otherwise that sounds pretty good, lisah!

I intended to take Walter out, do a short warmup walk and then my training run, but he was walking with not quite a limp but kind of a hitch? And wanting to stop a lot. So I brought him home and went on the run by myself, which was fine. I was slow, but my normal slow, so maybe I really will be able to do a 10k by the end of March? We'll see. Walter's napping now and doesn't seem distressed so hopefully he'll be perkier tomorrow.

Not feeling too motivated to do much else, but maybe I will after I rest a bit. I am still getting over this cold, after all.

I keep getting alerts on my phone that work emails are coming in but I am NOT READING THEM.

They would have been amazing, except they got pushed to the back of the fridge and froze! So I didn't eat the cucumbers yesterday, but otherwise, everything was fine. It was a good call, and I should do it again this weekend.

After many, many years, I set up a new comic book hold at the store Hubby used to manage. It's weird to have employees there who don't know him. With the Marvel reboots on so many series, I'm picking up several Avengers titles. It was wonderful fun to pick up my hold, then go to lunch to read and eat. I don't think I can go digital, unless I get a very big screen to view them on, because the page layouts often require you to be able to see both pages at once to get the full effect. I got a couple of odd looks at lunch--a 55-year-old woman reading comic books!--but it makes me feel a little more connected to the world.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The last comic book store near me in Brooklyn closed a few months ago, and now I have to go into Manhattan to buy the only ongoing floppy comic that I still get, Saga. I'm thinking of just subscribing by mail for it.

A 17 year old student at the high school across from me captures a lot of my feelings on the latest mayoral contender. [link] That said, I know I will not be voting for any of the current office holders or old guard for mayor (Dixon, uhg.) I've often mused I'd like to scrap everyone, even the good ones, in favor of starting over. This might be the closest I get to that.

I really like the comic book store by me, I would like to actually support them but I lack discipline in keeping up with periodical anything and in managing my paper format literature.
