Kate, I'm sorry.
Poor Matilda-boo.
Jury duty is on for tomorrow. Have to figure out my reading list if the wifi at the courthouse is on the blink. Will definitely be doing some Serial-spotting. We're supposed to stay in the jury sitting rooms, but a girl's gotta pee and refill her water bottle.
Good breathing ~ma to Matilda, and coping~ma to her parents
I'm so sorry for your friend, Kate, and strength to you and her loved ones
Thanks, y'all. It's still sinking in. I haven't seen J in a few years, but back when we both lived in Northampton, we had a standing weekly breakfast date for a couple of years, and it was such a nice thing that I always looked forward to. Now, of course, I feel rotten that we haven't kept up better since we both moved away. Ah, shit, I miss her.
Sending out the ~ma for Matilda, poor noodle.
Hec can give the full update since he took her there, but it's atypical walking pneumonia. She'll start a 5-day course of azithromycin tonight; sucks, but she's home and humming to herself and generally unfazed. Poor button!
I'm so sorry, Kate! That's heartbreaking.
Wait, whut? DeRay Mckesson is running for Baltimore mayor. Along with everyone else.
Poor Matilda. I'm glad she has medicine. I know how horrible it is to start coughing and not be able to stop.
Kate, that's so sad. I'm so sorry.
Poor Matilda, but yay for a diagnosis and drugs!
Our friend's memorial was tonight, and it was nice, but this was a group of people from the kink world, and I had to tell Tim on the way home that, god forbid I should die early, NO ONE is allowed to sit around and talk about my magical ladyparts. And yes, people did. (We were in a restaurant's private room, not a funeral home or other public venue.) My friends have...different boundaries than I do.
(The flip side was my cousin's funeral last week, where the pastor was thisclose to issuing an altar call. His sermon was All About Jesus and included basically nothing about my cousin. So sad.)
And! Oh my god, while we were at the memorial, my mom texted to tell me my cousin's wife (this is mom's side of the family, not dad's, which was last week's cousin) is in the hospital and almost died this morning from an embolism.
I strongly dislike 2016.
I'm so sorry, Kate.
And poor Matilda, but I'm glad it was diagnosed and you have drugs for her.
, god forbid I should die early, NO ONE is allowed to sit around and talk about my magical ladyparts
HOLY CRAP NO. Just a world of no. If we could do images here, this would be where the octopus NOPING away would go.
Finished cleaning out Dad's old apartment today & gave back the keys. He's apparently well-settled into memory care, and the staff say he's actually been participating in activities! I suspect this is because his cable STILL ISN'T WORKING. Please to send your curses to Comcast, who swore the line was live on Sunday but still haven't sent a technician out. So he has neither cable nor phone at the moment, and I'm so pissed off.
I have some sort of weird stomach thing going on, so my last two days have been very low calorie, with no breakfast, a smallish lunch, and then no dinner other than a hot toddy. Not exactly physician-recommended meals, but whatever works. Otherwise I wake up at 2AM with stomach pain, and that's no good...
