Kate, if she's got an e-book reader, maybe the first book in several different series?
My Mom went through the O'Brian "Master and Commander" series during chemo, which was not her normal thing. When she was healthy she preferred literature, but when she was on chemo she didn't want anything that required real thought. She wanted something that would keep her attention for a few hours but not so compelling that she'd stay up all night. And the fact that was 20 books in the series meant there was always another book available.
M&C was just one series she read through. I know she also read her way through a bunch of mystery series. Obviously specific recommendations would depend on her particular interests.
Poor Matilda. That sounds miserable.
I'm sorry, Kate.
Health~ma to Matilda. Long periods of coughing can be draining.
Oh, poor Matilda. I hope the doctors can help. Maybe a preventive inhaler, along with the rescue one?
Kate, I am so sorry. Fuck cancer, indeed.
(((Matilda))) Poor thing, that sounds so miserable.
My cats ignore catnip, but are gaga over lemongrass. I have given up overwintering the plants inside, because the little brats will destroy things in an effort to get to them.
Sending healing vibes to Matilda and calm vibes to her worried parents!
Oh, Kate. I’m so sorry. Fuck fuck fuck FUCK cancer.
Oh, Kate, I'm so very sorry. That's just awful.
And poor Matilda, and Matilda's family. I hope the treatments see her much improved.
The cats I've had have been pretty casual about catnip, and practically ignored the growing plants.
Kate, I'm sorry.
Poor Matilda-boo.
Jury duty is on for tomorrow. Have to figure out my reading list if the wifi at the courthouse is on the blink. Will definitely be doing some Serial-spotting. We're supposed to stay in the jury sitting rooms, but a girl's gotta pee and refill her water bottle.
Good breathing ~ma to Matilda, and coping~ma to her parents
I'm so sorry for your friend, Kate, and strength to you and her loved ones
