Lindsey: Why--why did you... Lorne: One last job. You're not part of the solution, Lindsey. You never will be. Lindsey: You kill me? A flunky?! I'm not just...Angel...kills me. You...Angel... Lorne: Good night, folks.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm so California that 63 is not warm in my book. It's not cold but it's not warm either. Also FTR it is 63 right now in my neighborhood too.

I am trying a new recipe, something called Mississippi roast that is starting to trend online, according to articles online. Hmmm. But hey, looks tasty and is super easy and my family has been asking for more beef.

Holy crap! Woke up to discover a friend of mine from high school has been named VP of Development and Production for Discovery's Science Channel: [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Very cool, Matt!

Everyone I talked to today who's been at work all day (in the nursing home, my massage therapist) was like, Is it lovely outside?? It is nice and sunny, but not that warm. Comfortable in your coat.

I've got lots of boxes of stuff for the thrift store that need to go out to my car. However, we've had three inches of snow so far and it's still snowing. So I'm stymied by weather, because clearing out this stuff hard enough emotionally without having to trudge through the snow uphill both ways (there's a slope up to the driveway, then climbing the steps back to the porch and the front door).

So, soon I'll do the cat box and the dishes. Yay. (I'm sick of the cold and the snow. It's the end of January, I'm allowed to be sick of it now)

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thanks for the link to vacuum reviews! Helpful. My sister says canister vac, but I'm unconvinced.

I've gotten a bit done today. Some books put away, dusting and floor cleaning, some stuff put aside for sale/donation. Not bad. Gonna grab some food and maybe do some more later unless I fall asleep in front of the hypno-box.

I am very annoyed at someone and there's not a thing I can say to them or do about it, nor can I remove them from my life without losing someone I love. It's lucky they don't live near me; the mute button is all that saves me.

Zen, I think you're right on the bag. I prefer a bag, and I don't even have asthma! The last think you want to do is put the any of the dust back in the air.

I'm currently watching Kim Fields and Jason Bateman as teen stars on a ridiculous 80s game show. So that's enjoyable.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It got up to the 50s here today, which was warm enough for sandals and thus a pedicure. So I met a friend for lunch and pedies.

Now I'm watching a 2000 version of Loves Labours Lost. It's a Brannagh production set in 1939, with early and mid-20th century musical numbers sprinkled throughout. I don't know that it works, exactly, but it's sort of a fun mess.

Ridiculous thing on my mind lately: Is my grandfather's old flight suit still around, so I can use it for a Poe Dameron costume? I have not yet actually looked for it (probably in the attic).

I just posted this in response to a conservative religious friend parroting a policeman's butthurt outrage about Democrat candidates acknowledging abuses of police power as a problem:

Explain to me how pretending there are no problems with increasing militarization, racial bias, and brutality in police departments will be helpful to and respectful of the good police officers that do their jobs correctly and don't engage in such abuses of power. Wouldn't it be to their advantage to have the bad apples held accountable and removed from the streets rather than include them in a conspiracy of silence where nothing improves?

Those familiar with the Bible, can you point me to a good verse that echoes the Edmund Burke quote "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."? I want to be ready for his Why Do You Hate God/America? response.

Presence of orange tabby in the basement has turned Pumpkin into a hissing nutcase, so much so that Loki gets freaked out and goes and hides in the closets. I only reboot them by feeding treats progressively closer until they are cheek to jowl with no drama. And then Pumpkin remembers other cat and we reboot again.

Other girl prefers wet food to dry treats. And drools for ear rubs. And won't leave the top step now that I've blocked all the bolt holes. Which she was really annoyed about. BARCS is the morning, can't cope with all this drama.
