Report him. Back in the early 2000s a lot of my mail came late and partially opened (but never the letters that were obviously bills or junk mail). The last straw was when the metal "We Can Do It" sign I sent to meara got returned and my mail carrier bent it over the arched mailbox rather than leave it at the apartment office or my door. Cue me going on the warpath and filling out a formal written complaint in front of the postmaster.
The carrier later left a message on my answering machine begging me to drop the complaint, so I'm pretty sure I at least got her put on some sort of probation with the USPS.
I am already ready for today to be over.
I've never checked out nextdoor but perhaps I should. Or not. I assume ours would be a recap of the same car thefts I hear about in the neighborhood watch emails.
I have writing and reading to do for work. Will it get done? Who knows? Tune in later to find out!
This is quite possibly the best argument I've yet heard against Amazon using drones.
Speaking of drones, there was one hovering over my campus yesterday followed by an onslaught of police helicopters. Not sure what that was about.
Since the word "drone" has apparently expanded from "military Predator drone" to include RC quadcopters, I get SUPER confused at news stories about "drones" that turn out to be RC devices.
Good point, Steph, about the quadcopters
My old stretch teacher gave me a private last night, which was awesome, but I noticed there was something going on as I drove home, cop cars and emergency vehicles. Turns out it was a shooting right by where I was. Yipes!
Yikes, Burrell
I signed up with Nextdoor last night and very few of my neighbors are on it. Will see how it all goes.
The carrier later left a message on my answering machine begging me to drop the complaint, so I'm pretty sure I at least got her put on some sort of probation with the USPS.
Did you? Drop the complaint? I ask because one of my mail carriers is on the verge of getting a written complaint from me, but I'm not sure how far I want to take it.
Nextdoor has been disappointing for me. None of my immediate neighbors are on it. It lumps my little neighborhood in with the rich people on the mountain behind us and the other working-class neighborhood on the other side of the highway, so half the group doesn't know the other half. Mostly what's posted is stuff for sale, handyman recs, and the occasional lost pet notice.
IT has taken my work software off line for the rest of the weekend for an upgrade. And there goes the last chance I had of squeaking under this deadline. We probably weren't going to make it anyway. I'm sure this is my fault. After all, I didn't get started a month ago. I only got started two weeks ago! On creating four one-page documents, consisting mostly of existing graphics and C&P text. Sorry, it didn't occur to me that that would take more than two weeks to do. If I could have done them myself, they would have been done, but no, we outsource everything now! For efficiency!
I stand with Dana. Today should be over. Even though it started out ok and my dr wrote me script for anti-anxiety med and confirmed I have lost a few lbs since Nov. I came into a shitstorm at work which has spiraled into an anxiety attack and I am yelling at ppl.
Tomorrow though, tomorrow I see Daisy Jane and that will be better.
Snow squall and all the locals on my fb & tl are losing their shit. Pretty sure I heard all parents of school kids start screaming....
I wish I could yell at people. If I were still in the office I could go loom over peoples' desks until they caved and gave me what I need. Except most of the people who work for me now are in another country, so I still couldn't loom.
The inability to psychologically intimidate my co-workers hampers my ability to get shit done.
