Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And she was my age now when I was born. Time sure is crazy!

Truth.

So I spent a good hour on my thing, and made a ton of progress! I think now I'm OK to take another run at it in the morning.

Did you know, when your fridge bulb burns out, it's really hard to believe your fridge is still working?

Another chilly swim, which is great for my sore shoveling muscles, but daaaamn, hard to get in. They fixed the issue, but only this afternoon. It went up a degree, from 77 to 78, during my swim. And the thing is, they were claiming it was 78 yesterday, but it was so not. I'd guess 74. Guard even admitted he was no longer posting the actual temp, just 'COLD.'Yet tons of families with kids there. School's been out all week, cabin fever defeats cold water.

Dreading shopping this weekend. Roads are still a clusterfuck.

Meanwhile, it's been so warm here, our paltry snow is almost all gone! And it's supposed to be in the 50s next week? The fuck is that.

Jeezus people, it's not the delivery companies at fault if your no-sig required package gets stolen. IT'S THE THIEVES. I try to stay disengaged on nextdoor, but when I've just listed the tools that are offered by upsfedexusps so that you don't risk a stolen unattended package, you can just shut up about the drop and knock for unsigned packages 'makes us vulnerable.' Um, no.

Ah, I see we live in the same neighborhood and have similar neighbors on Nextdoor.

Do you also have a renegade faction that thinks it would be a GREAT idea to fill an Amazon box with poop and then leave it unattended on a porch? ISTG, they are just ASKING to be shot.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

If their poop fills an Amazon box, they have bigger problems than who's stealing their mail.

Raises hand

You should see our neighborhood associations Facebook page. "Panic! There's a black guy standing around doing nothing! Should I call the police?"

Oh yeah, that's my friendneighbor Brian. I love him dearly and can count on him for anything, but he is an Angry White Man of a Certain Age on the site. Siiiiigh. Eta: in response to the poop box commentary.

Otoh, the site also got some vulnerable folks dug out, crews to streets neglected completely, animals rescued, tools leant. And lots of thank you posts. Our neighborhood is relatively tame and cordial for being so active. Occasionally I venture into nearby hoods..and then want to shoot myself or them.

Yeah, ours is really useful for things like "Are These Your Ducks?" and "Gunshots on [Street Name]???" or "Does Anyone Within Walking Distance of [Street Name] Have Yeast I Can Borrow?"

We do get stuff done, but there's also contentious arguments over things like Amazon Poop Boxes.

This is quite possibly the best argument I've yet heard against Amazon using drones.
