I went to law school in Urbana-Champaign and I thought it was a great place to live - the advantages of a smallish city plus the advantages of a major university. If I hadn't set on getting out of the Midwest and all its snow, I would have happily settled down there.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
flea, I may know someone who works there, if you want me to check.
I napped. I think it's snowing harder.
I applied to UI Champaign-Urbana. It seemed like a lovely area, and the job bennies were fab. I was sad not to get it.
Oh, good, my friend is up and has keys, so I will be able to get lunch. Yay for food!
Now to see what's open this afternoon...
Ugh, noisy people leaving a birthday party next door kept me up until 3 am (the host ended the party at 1:30, which isn't super unreasonable for college kids on a weekend, but apparently loud sorority girls and exiting stairwells don't mix). I was tempted to fill a bucket up and start dousing people with water to make them go the fuck home.
But at least it resulted in me being outside at the right time to find out the restaurant next door was out of cat food, and getting to pet most of the resident alley cats while feeding them.

The letter p in this post was brought to you by Jesse's post above, and cut-and-paste.
It's coming down kind of steady in Somerville now! I just checked the app, and I'd be making 2.5 surge prices if I felt like driving tonight. (But, as has been proved, you really can't pay me enough for that.)
I made my saving throw to remember to bring in the car snow shovel and car snow brush, so I don't have to brush off a car door or two to access them tomorrow. Adulting for the win!
