Our predicted snowpocalypse was instead a nopocalypse. At least in our county. The counties to the east and south got snow, but even they didn't get as much as the original forecasts threatened.

We had a couple of brief flakes here. The wind is nearly at gale strength, so I think we dodged good.
I just turned in my rental Uber phone, my new AT&T phone runs the driver app really well enough.
And we have thundersnow.
We missed the thundersnow! Unless that's what woke me up at 5 (after which I had no problem going back to sleep). Before bed last night there was screamfightsnow courtesy of the one bad neighbor on our side of the street. His girlfriend was screaming for the neighbors to call 911 so, of course we did. Then I went outside to yell at them that we were calling 911 and they should go the fuck home and act like fucking adults. Which they did, or at least he walked off one way and she did the other while calling me a bitch. Fun times! I should have been more restrained and less "fuck" yelling but, sheesh, it was a beautiful snowy evening that they disrupted with their dysfunctional relationship.
It may have started around the, I woke up suddenly at 5:43....
Shoveled. Need a nap now.
You're welcome, Jesse!
Thundersnow does sound kind of awesome, in the I am struck with awe and mildly terrified kind of way.
I do a similar salad with quinoa, black beans, peppers, cilantro, feta, and avocado...
Yum to that too, although the older I get the less my system tolerates peppers, the bummer, because they do add a certain crisp tang to a chopped salad.

Here in NYC, we’ve already shot past the low-end of the predicted amounts, and we’ve still got a long ways to go.
Sending keep-the-heat-on vibes to all you snow bound folks!
Thanks, Burrell! My greatest concern right now is that the power stays on.
We are upgraded (dowgraded?) to 30". I checked on my parents this morning - they've been on the generator since 3am. (thank goodness they are in a location where they no longer have to plow. I am so grateful.)
I'm applying for a job in Urbana-Champaign. It's basically the perfect job description for me, and a former colleague who works there now says overall it's a good place to work (although the governor is currently screwing with the entire university system.) But the thought of upheaving my whole family AGAIN is practically killing me, and if I can't put that aside I can't possibly get the job, because they'll know I'm half-hearting it.
