My nephew came down and he was HYPER. The snow is too soft for sledding or snow man buidling. BUT the neighbor's kids came over and he's out playing in the snow.
I am tired, cranky, have a cough/cold and PMS and all I want to do is be snowed in alone with the internet. I'm doing the best I can to counter act that. But I also feel like I'm failing at being a good aunt because after a few hours of my nephew I want to hide. Although Mom and I have been "tag teaming" so she can get some time by herself.
I am starting to suspect that the author from hell is trying to fudge some of the data because it's a bit spotty and WTH everyone does it and oh crud, your queries are bumping right up against her lack of actual data. (Seeing how data gets recycled in science was an eye-opener for me!)
Stay safe and warm, y'all.
Yes, this. I hope everyone can hunker down out of harm's way.
I never know what to bring to a potluck. I am paralyzed with indecision.
My answer is usually black bean and corn salad if I don't have a good idea. So easy, so delicious.

As a non-parent, a few hours is a lot!
I've hit the stage of Cranky About Everything, because I saw a FB post where someone said, "Uh, is anyone seeing any snow? Because there's none in [area] right now. Typical." and my reaction was "The news clearly said it won't be an issue until rush hour YOU ASS CAN YOU EVEN READ WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM FUCKER?????"
Which I didn't actually post. But oh, I am thinking it so hard.
It was snowing a little bit - like, I saw flakes - when I came home at 12.3o. But it is not yet affecting roadways. I am a little *issy that *ublic schools closed for the whole day.
Fillo is *laying a video game and yelling, "By Jove!" at it. The only thing he ate for lunch was an entire cucumber. Cas*er is on the *ad wearing footie *ajamas and my down coat.
(my * is still broken. As are several other keys./

Yeah, they could have let out early. That shouldn't be that difficult to coordinate.
I like Burrell's asshat author theory.

I usually bring apple pie if I'm on desserts or wild rice salad [link] if I'm on sides.
I often try to bring something vegetarian or vegan. That wild rice salad looks really good. I like this too: [link]
My go-to party/potluck contribution is semi-homemade spinach dip in a bread bowl.
Though it occurs to me that potlucks in San Francisco might not suffer from the problem of not enough vegetarian food.
