Snowing here. We have 5 or 6 inches so far. No getting off the mountain and even if I could they are saying do not drive.
Of course Mom realized last night after the sleet started and it was too hazardous to drive we aren't prepared for power outage for more than a day. I feel partly responsible for not saying stock up on tuna and canned soup that's okay to eat cold.
If I have a power outage I'll be living on tuna and chips. Like I usually do... okay then. I'll stick everything in the fridge outside!
Steph, can you send her the revised proof, ask her the questions again, and inform her the paper cannot be published until you receive responses to all the queries? That's what I do with these snippity authors. I get a lot of them.
Indeed, please may those in the path of the storm be careful. We have a big blob of weather hitting us too. Rather like tropical waves, except chillier. Still 70F now, but when the rain hits it will drop. Lots of rain. Alas, I have to go out in it for a big meeting and I have no clue what I did with my umbrella. I usually go with the Florida wait for the shower to pass plan, but that won't work today.
Storm is moving faster than earlier, so I think they are saying snow might start around noon in DC, with the bad stuff coming towards evening. A lot of flights are preemptively cancelled and public transit shutting down early. So she might be stuck.
Yikes.
I'm answering email from my nice warm bed right now, with a gray cat curled up beside me, but it's time to get dressed and go make coffee and start watching for snow. And working. Right. Work. Lots of work to do.
Be safe, everyone.
My university closed today, so I'm working from home, listening to the sleet falling outside. I have pot roast in the slow cooker and birds mugging the feeder that I can see from my front window. My neighbors are home and safe, so I don't have to worry about them. It's nice and cozy, as long as the power stays on.
you are a good boss, Sparky.
Good luck to all the Buffistas who are being attacked by winter. Things are pretty calm here in the Real America.
I heard some of Palin's endorsement speech of Trump and... well... that woman has a way with words.
Like a garbage disposal?
