I seriously just got an email back from the author from hell. I have NEVER had an author give me this much trouble before. I've had lots of authors be late returning their stuff. I've had tons of authors not answer all our queries. A decent handful has been snippy about something they didn't like...but it was addressed in ONE email.
Her email tonight (in response to me asking her to answer 4 questions whose answers are unambiguous straightforward answers) said "The file on the link is completely unedited. I am not remaking all of my previous edits. Please send me the uploaded file (since I am out of the office this week) or make it available on the link for these requested edits to be made."
(We send the authors a PDF of the file after *we* edit it, so they can answer questions and make other changes. This hellbeast returned that PDF earlier, and made some changes and answered some questions. I'm not sure why she thinks she needs *her* marked-up PDF to answer the 4 outstanding questions. Well, no, I can guess: she probably doesn't trust that we made her changes.)
I DIDN'T ASK YOU TO RE-DO ALL YOUR CHANGES. ANSWER THE 4 GODDAMN QUESTIONS BEFORE I HULK THE FUCK OUT ON YOU.
Seriously, at this point I feel like she was paid to fuck with me. Because how can one author be such an ongoing pain in the ass? I am boggling at her varsity-level bullshit.
Ok, but wait, why doesn't SHE have her own marked up document?
Oh, because she's out of the office.
I have shifted things out of the way for some more furniture to be delivered tomorrow. Just a bookcase and a dresser, but after this, I will be done furnishing this apartment other than artwork and plants.
I timed the laundry wrong, so I'm going to have a little bit of rum while I fold laundry, and then go to bed.
we are waiting for the snowpocalypse. Baltimoreistas and DCistas stay safe, guard your milk and bread.
I have neither milk nor bread. But then, I don't require either. I do have cream and tortillas, though.
Just hoping I don't lose power...
Yeah, good luck, y'all! My coworker who lives in DC moved her flight earlier, but she's still here.... It's not starting until later?
Storm is moving faster than earlier, so I think they are saying snow might start around noon in DC, with the bad stuff coming towards evening. A lot of flights are preemptively cancelled and public transit shutting down early. So she might be stuck.
Yes, no more buses after 5 p.m., and metro shutting down at 11 p.m. through Saturday and Sunday.
I'm at work, because, I think, of the March for Life. I told everyone who works for me yesterday that there was no shame in calling me this morning to say the car wouldn't start, and basically ordered everyone who drives in from VA to stay away.
I really did need to buy milk and bread! I went to the supermarket this morning at 7:15, right after the store had opened, and the shelves were still stocked.
