Buffista Island!
Is... that still going to be there in 30 or 40 years? It looks really small, and really close to current sea level...
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I finally was able to get ltc to take a nearly hour long nap in crib after checking on her 8 times and flipping her back onto her back each time to try to convince her it was not tummy time. This might be my new exercise program.
Matt, that was the first thing I thought too.

Maybe we should invest in Buffista Peninsula instead, and wait for the waters to rise.
We could build on stilts. If it's enough of a bargain.

I'm home with an unhappy digestive system (for real, I am not malingering in order to have b.org access that is just a pleasant side effect) but still considering going out to lunch, because Restaurant Week.
That China thing - related to how "wisdom" has to come from exotic places? Kinda surprised at Bacigalupi, I had the impression he did better research than that.
I've never seriously considered getting a tattoo, but this one makes me wonder: [link]
Oh, that is beautiful .
It is beautiful, and also makes me nauseated.
Also, Cute Overload just closed. I haz a sad. I don't know where to get cute anymore.
Today is ON NOTICE. I woke up 30 minutes late. We had surprise snow of a couple of inches so the roads were horrible, traffic was crap, and there were 2 accidents on the way to the airport. I parked in the garage cause I didn't have time to do the offsite parking. The security line was crazy long. Half way through I realized I left my phone on the front seat of my car, but the flight was due to leave in 20 minutes, so no time to run back to the car. Oh, and the only inhaler I have with my is down to the last 15 puffs, so I have to conserve. Got through security, hot footed it as best as I could to the gate, which is deserted except for one employee who greets me by name and waves me down the jetway where another employee also greets me by name. The flight attendant found me room in the overhead near my seat, I have no idea how he worked his magic as I was the last person to board.
Get to Salt Lake and I should be able to put the earlier shit show behind me right? I grab a latte and pastry for breakfast before heading to my rental car. Where I trip, spilling the latte everywhere, including on my one coat. I skinned up a knee but was otherwise ok. Not one person came to my aid and there were plenty of people around who could have. I finally got in my car and realize I don't know how to get to the office, I've always used Google Maps on my phone. Somehow I got here without any wayward turns. Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it. I know how to get to my hotel and various restaurants, so I'll just need to print out the return trip to the airport for tomorrow.
I'm in the office, my knee is throbbing, my shoes have decided to be uncomfortable instead of my reliable travel shoes. The only other pair I brought with me are flip flops in case I decide to get a pedicure (oh hell yes, I need the pampering today). And now I have back to back meetings from 11am through 4pm. Meetings I am leading and have to be ON for.
