When I was in school our social studies/history teacher would show us a video of the "I Have A Dream" speech every year on the 15th. This year I was happy to hear that my son's 5th grade teacher showed it to her class on Friday, which was of course the 15th.
I need to work today, create a good in-class exercise for my students for tomorrow. Luckily I have coffee and a fridge full of food, so all should be well. Plus Franny is doing her homework beside me while I am doing mine. (Er....)
Due to some arcane combination of tech support people getting the traditional Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve half-day off in a staggered pattern, I get to leave now with a full day's pay for half a day's work plus holiday pay. I do like my company.
I has sad. When I left NY 5 years ago I was very sad, but this time feels more final.
Tomorrow's 6:30AM meeting has been postponed a week. Which will suck next week, but Present!Me is celebrating at the expense of Future!Me.
Lots of hugs to you, Rebecca
I just had a bone scan done. (Base line to see if the next anti-cancer drug they want me to take messes with density).
That was kind of a weird experience.
Cold draft coming off the kitchen. Solution: bake cookies. Chocolate chip and snickerdoodle dough chilling.
Much love coming your way, Rebecca.
I hope you can find a happy to help off set the sad, Rebecca.
