Because books.

There's no way to avoid knowing it's baseball or football season in Philly. The top news on game days is usually the Eagles' or the Phillies' results.

Baseball's my sport, though. Just not the Phillies.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I catch Premiere League football when I can (go 'Spurs!), but otherwise I'm not too sporty.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My MIL is coming over in a little bit to watch the little guy while I go to the supermarket and get lunch.

Matt, maybe it was a neighbor who realized it had been mis-delivered?

I'm prepping for a baby shower later this afternoon. And mildly wondering if I should watch some of the Seahawks game if only so I can understand my FB feed.

Adventures in commuting: Light slushy snowfall last night, fogbound freeway this morning. But God gave Americans the right to drive 80 mph on the freeway, so that's what my neighbors are going to do. Thank heaven this was a Sunday morning, and not Monday. Though I'd have taken the long, back way to work if it was.

Croissant:

Just checked a bunch of traffic cameras. Several of them are only showing grey with a faint hint of roadway. Yay, winter.

Watching the fog ebb and flow up the hillside outside the office is like being on the shore of a very odd ocean.

Punishingly Intricate

Snowing a little here! First time I've seen it snow here at all this winter.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

We're getting our first snow of the winter today too. It's been snowing lightly all morning, and barely sticking at all. We're supposed to get 5-8 inches on Friday, though.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh jeez, I just looked at our long-range forecast, and it shows 8-12 inches of snow next weekend, which would give us all such bad flashbacks! That's when we had the first big snow last year, too. And then it just never stopped.
