Yeah, there are times on the internet where I'm like Football or Game of Thrones. They are both bloody, but one has bigger words. but I don't follow either
I remember one night there was a hockey playoff game AND Game of Thrones on at the same time (more or less), and my FB feed was littered with posts that read things like "Noooooo!!!" or "WHY JUST WHY???", etc. And for the life of me, I had no idea which posts were related to hockey and which were Game of Thrones.
Hahah, that's awesome.
Tonight's football was wildness.
If it's not hockey or tennis, I generally have no idea what's going on. In Chicago, I kinda knew when baseball was in season because I needed to avoid being near Wrigley Field when the Cubs were playing.
Speaking of tennis, the Australian Open starts tomorrow.
I finally finally got a go-bag together for my earthquake kit. The food in it consists of some nuts & dried fruit, and a handful of Kind bars. There's several days of dog food in it, though. And clothes, in case I have to run out of the house in my pyjamas.
Visited with Dad today, fought with Verizon again -- this time, the third time I've tried to cancel his cell phone plan, they finally told me that I need to bring him physically to a store to confirm his identity. WTF, Verizon, you suck. He's 88, and it's getting increasingly difficult to do that sort of thing.
Now I am trying to catch up on Orphan Black and letting my dough rise. I think this bread will have me up late, I started it at 7PM. Woops.
Ugh. Housecleaning is at that depressing stage where there's really nothing else to be done without serious culling and purging, which results in lots and lots of work with very little visible result. I am, at least, finding a bunch of stuff that I'd thought was lost forever, but it's hard not to get discouraged at the sheer magnitude of the mess and the lack of progress.
(No joke, just now I found out a football game was on because DH is covering SNL tonight for work, and when we turned on the TV there was a football game in overtime. Apparently they had to flip a coin twice, which is one more times than usual? The commentators seemed to think this was a really big deal.)
According to FB, that might have been the Green Bay Packers game. (Maybe. I'm just going on FB posts.)
Wow, I just got a UPS delivery at 1 am on a Sunday morning. (Well, I guess it was UPS, someone knocked on my door and then left a package in front of it before I could get a robe on.)
What?? That's so weird.
It would be hard to avoid baseball and football here -- people were timing their attendance at the party yesterday based on the Patriots' game. And this was a party to sing our friend's church music, remember. Not a stereotypically sportsy crowd!
There's no way to avoid knowing it's baseball or football season in Philly. The top news on game days is usually the Eagles' or the Phillies' results.
Baseball's my sport, though. Just not the Phillies.
