Sigh. I think that mistake is going to take a good long while to recover from. I've got to stop making mistakes.

Good luck figuring out how to do that. Let us know when you've got it worked out.
This week alone, I've signed onto 3 major projects in which they'll be fucked if I leave, even at this stage. 2, I'm pretty much the only one with the know to get it moving within the month versus 6.. I still haven't really tackled my resume, beyond cursing it. I'm hedging my bets, clearly.
And Jesus, would Carl PLEASE be in his office soon?!!!
Is this a goal you want to establish for yourself, Gud? Or one that's being imposed on you? Either way, unless you figure out how to stop being human, it's an unrealistic goal.
What about your kids? Are they allowed to make mistakes? The other people in your family? Your coworkers? Are none of them allowed to make mistakes? How does anybody ever have the courage to try something new, to expand their reach and widen their goals without the freedom of learning from the mistakes they make?
I'm sorry. I really don't mean to lecture, but it makes me sad when someone as smart, industrious, and dedicated as you are says they're not allowed to make mistakes.
Steph, I thought of you because I was extremely.....well, let me you what happened. I have a colleague who picks nits in the most intense ways. She has told her students that she doesn't want them to turn in papers with Times New Roman because it's boring and lazy. So one of my advisory kids was printing a paper for this teacher's class in my room. When I pulled it off the printer, I said, "What is up with this font?!" She explained. So then I told her use Comic Sans for the paper. Or Papyrus. She chose Comic Sans and I laughed.
She chose Comic Sans and I laughed.
You know what, though? That teacher DESERVES Comic Sans.
Gud, please be easier on yourself. I am the bil payer, and yes I miss stuff. Partly because I had a sad useless plan that didn't work. DH doesn't like to pay bills - so I made a new system that we both have to follow - where bills go - how to keep them visible , so at the very least he can see what needs to be paid tool
have her help you find the solution - so it can not be just your fault ( there are two adults in your family)
But you have to forgive yourself for not being perfect. Oddly, there are a few things in this life more important than paying a bill.
to quote a friend "if money fixes something , it isn't a problem" ( getting money might be an issue, but obviously not in this case.
Insurance bills and phone bills are my problem bills
I love Times New Roman, it's classy, professional, the words look like they're worthy of that little bit of extra effort that was taken. Like words that should be given some respect. Not fashionable, but enduring.
My favorite font is Calibri, and after that, Arial. My eyes aren't as sharp as I could wish, and if I can go sans serif, things are clearer and easier for me to read.
Times New Roman isn't as immediately readable for me.
Kat, I just signed up for The Molly Weasley Ugly Jumper Run, so thanks for the pointer to the Hogwarts Running Club.
