All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I really wish Alan Rickman and David Bowie were not the exact same age as my mother.

Yeah.

I do love all the Truly, Madly, Deeply clips being shared everywhere. I loved that movie.

Sean, congrats!

I've never seen Truly, Madly, Deeply. Rickman is my OTMetatron, though.

Washing machines are so uncooperative.

My Buy All the Pumpkin Things spree is still paying dividends. I have been in that state of wanting food but nothing sounding good for a couple few hours and finally the Pumpkin-O's called to me. Delicious! I haven't had a bowl of col cereal in ages, that stuff is good.

Congratulations, Sean!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

So. Am drunk.

Was out with my team at the wine bar in a hotel by the office. Who are no longer my team due to another shake-up. It's me and my senior person, and we're several bottles in.

A guy says something to the effect of can you quiet down. Which we do, and we weren't really saying anything.

Which is good, cause I realize belatedly that the guy is our global CEO.

We ask him to join us and spend another hour and another bottle of wine shooting the shit. We find out when we're leaving that he picked up our tab.

Whut?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Gud, my DH forgot to pay the mortgage one month. He was beating himself up pretty badly, but we had to pay a fine and we still have our house so, it was minor. As he says to me when I freak out over work mistakes, "You're a human being who is not perfect just like, oh, everyone on Earth. Perfection is impossible."

Leaving my phone at work + benadryl at bedtime = not even noticing the Fitbit alarm when it is time to get up. if it weren't for a loudly complaining cat (complaining about what? I don't know, missing the pleasure of my company perhaps) I don't know how long I'd've slept. On a day when the leadership team of Supervisor, Manager, Director and Senior Director are out (half of them our of the country) maybe showing up late wouldn't matter too much, but still, thanks cat.

Feeling a little better today. Turns out the washer problem probably wasn't my bungled repair, but rather than the drain pump had somehow filled up with gunk. Cleaned out the drain pump and did a load of laundry to make sure it works.

I did forget to get some chicken marinating for making dinner tonight (a spicy cranberry-orange stir fry). But with the time needed to go to the store to get supplies and making the marinade itself, I really didn't have the time anyhow. That'll be tonight.

It's actually been very reliable. We've had it for about 16 years and this is only the second breakdown. The first was a disposable glove somehow getting in the wash and sucked into the drain pump. I replaced the pump, but I opened up the old one and untangled the glove so I wouldn't be surprised if the old pump still worked. I'm holding onto as a spare part.
