I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Leaving my phone at work + benadryl at bedtime = not even noticing the Fitbit alarm when it is time to get up. if it weren't for a loudly complaining cat (complaining about what? I don't know, missing the pleasure of my company perhaps) I don't know how long I'd've slept. On a day when the leadership team of Supervisor, Manager, Director and Senior Director are out (half of them our of the country) maybe showing up late wouldn't matter too much, but still, thanks cat.

Feeling a little better today. Turns out the washer problem probably wasn't my bungled repair, but rather than the drain pump had somehow filled up with gunk. Cleaned out the drain pump and did a load of laundry to make sure it works.

I did forget to get some chicken marinating for making dinner tonight (a spicy cranberry-orange stir fry). But with the time needed to go to the store to get supplies and making the marinade itself, I really didn't have the time anyhow. That'll be tonight.

It's actually been very reliable. We've had it for about 16 years and this is only the second breakdown. The first was a disposable glove somehow getting in the wash and sucked into the drain pump. I replaced the pump, but I opened up the old one and untangled the glove so I wouldn't be surprised if the old pump still worked. I'm holding onto as a spare part.

It should be sturdy though because it wasn't cheap. It's a high-end Whirpool front loader made in Germany. Couldn't believe we actually spent that much on a washer at the time. It is really nice though.

It's often a good idea to spend up front on durable goods like that, yeah.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Yesterday was one of the 4:30am days. I haven't been very good at getting myself to bed on time this week due to David Bowie and Alan Rickman and ita, and I realized that I was desperately sleep-deprived after a series of events that indicated my cognitive function was on par with a very drunk person. I put myself to bed around 8pm and slept through until my alarm this morning.

Feeling a little better today.

Glad to hear it, Gud. I'm not good at not being hard on myself, so I constantly have to ask myself, "Would you forgive someone else for making this mistake?"

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

In the hopes that posting about it will make it happen:

Dear car dealership, send us the title so we can get the car registered! Sheesh.

Dear internet commerce orders that have yet to be delivered, get yourselves delivered!

Dear me, edit that dang editorial.
