It is pretty elaborate but I think this is the 4th? year I've done it and now I know to only try to plan a few days out at a time and also what sort of meals I'll never do. So I have meals planned through Wednesday lunch and that's all I'm going to buy supplies for.
Yeah, that makes sense. Like when I did this thing: [link] I realized that the lunches and dinners are perfectly planned, but somehow they have you buying a ton of different things for breakfast -- and I'm happy to have the same thing every day. So now I know!
Inorite, Dana. I'm washing dishes while I watch the game, so I haven't been talking about it, but I don't know if I would even know what to say!
In other food news, I just made a leftovers quiche that smells amazing. It has ham and cheese and kale and broccoli and pesto in it.
Oooh, that sounds fantastic. My food plan for the new year is to basically stop grocery shopping, at least for a while. I've got produce and eggs on a regular delivery schedule and so much in my pantry and freezer that needs eating up, it shouldn't even be hard. Making my diet some sort of healthy I will think about later...
OK, pausing to have lunch, and then I think I need to take out the garbage and recycling while it's not raining.
Happy birthday, Shrift!!!
Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Happy Birthday Shrift!
That menu sounds good to me every year, but I need it delivered like blue apron. My grocery store does not have that stuff. It does have a lot of African root vegetables, though, so maybe I should look up how to eat them for New Years. I don't think I will ever be up for the chicken feet (they also have a lot of them) or tripe, though.
How do you all pronounce "sepulcher"? We have a Holy Sepulcher cemetery and everyone thinks Seplacher is correct.
