So I was Not Up To the movies, but in good news, on the way home, I was thinking what I really need is hot and sour soup, but I couldn't think of a Chinese place to go, so I was going to go to the Thai place for Tom kha gai, but when I got there, there's a Chinese place next door! So now I have hot and sour soup.

I have not, Kat, I'll have to look for that! I'm just getting back into yogurt, too, so that'd be swell.
Hooray, hot and sour soup!
I didn't make it to the movies, either. I've spent most of the day with a heating pad on my neck and shoulder. It's not even so much that it hurts a lot (it hurts, not a lot, either way) when I don't as it keep feeling like it'll feel so much better if I just give it a little more time with the heat. And as those muscles relax I doze off. So, not getting much of anything done.
It's probably just as well? I do love a heating pad.
It's pretty pleasant. I"ll get something done tomorrow, probably.
Well, swim was great and fast, but attempt to get shelving was a bust. I coulda sworn I saw them there, but I've been in so damn many HomeDespots and Lowes in the past few weeks, I can't be sure it wasn't in Birmingham.
My 8 year old nephew is officially holding the overall record lap time in the junior division at the indoor (really popular) go kart track. To put in perspective, it's within 3 seconds of the adult record, whose cars have more power and can go faster.
This one definitely got his dad's racing bug.
Oh, and it happened Sunday, when we all went. Kid is a SERIOUS driver. But he still gave a fist pump crossing the finish line ahead of everyone. The flag guy and another staff came over and were kinda amazed at his times and can't wait until they can get him into the adult cars..5 years from now.
Whoa.
Scary fast, it sounds like.
Naturally. This kid is all about speed and kinetics. He's also got kinda high testosterone, which is what everyone attributes his competitiveness to (until you know his mom.)
If he could reach the pedals, my brother'd be teaching him to drive. Elder nephew has got a few lessons, is content to be chauffeured. (I told him to come visit, my clutch is nowhere near the bears my brother's cars are. )
So, the Army is doing a study about MREs and they're looking for volunteers to only eat MREs for three weeks. You get "up to" $200. Which might be OK if you didn't also have to:
During the study you will visit our lab in Natick, MA for ~3 hours 4 separate times. We will also meet with you at our lab or at your home/place of work for 30-60 min at least 3 days/week during the study. Data collection will include questionnaires, and blood, urine and fecal samples.
Yikes.
