I am just about out of work for today. There are four of us that aren't taking some or all of today off. I did bring lunch today (split pea soup and a baguette, yum) in case we don't get sent home early, but I bet we will. But that won't be for three more hours...

Traditionally, they don't let any of us go home early on NYE, but they are closing the NY office early due to the festivities there, so we are hoping they will do the same for other offices, just to be fair.
We are definitely getting paid for by the firm pizza for lunch.
The final indignity of my travel shenanigans was when I arrived home late last night to discover the elevator was down for maintenance, so I had to haul all my luggage, including a 45lb suitcase, up to the third floor.
In hindsight, I probably could have found a working elevator somewhere else in the building complex, but I was just fueled by exhaustion and rage at that point.
New Year's Steve - or Chris - would be good. Unfortunately, most often it's a New Year's Crisis.
