Thanks for the tips, fellows. Scola, you have made my decision for me. I will buy a new monitor (my cheapo acer is giving me agita, despite working just fine) and will wait on buying the box.
Cheers!
Gud, I've seen those full browser images a lot lately, and they strike me as very appealing.
However, along with cosigning Tom's comment about the fonts, I'd say the one thing I like least about the third iteration is that the 'splash screen' nature of a page with very little information on it. If the preview box will be a video or slide show, forget what I just said!
I made it home no problem! The worst part was walking up the icy driveway in my totally slick travelling shoes. Saw my grandmother in her assisted living place and met her "boyfriend," which, yikes. At least they are not currently getting married?? (Not that there was any real risk of their getting married, but that was the dementia-addled plan last week....) And met the adorable baby and heard some real horror stories about her mother, but it was actually good to see my one cousin and her other kid. (Baby's mother is my cousin's 21-year-old daughter.)
Now I have to decide if I want to try to make some NYE plans or not worry about it. Right now, the sofa and my cat seems amazing, but maybe I'll regret this tomorrow? Probably not.
I'm not 100% sold on the mixture of Adobe Calson Pro and Monserrat, but it's a minor quibble.
No problem, I'm going to change everything to Comic Sans anyhow
Timelies all!
:ducks from the incoming font rage:
Ahhhh. Realized I DID sign up for an FSA this year. But didn't save any of my receipts? I scrounged around and found about $35. But I have $120 in the FSA.
Quick buy some glasses or contacts? If you use either, I mean.
You may be able to get receipts online from your pharmacy, if you have an account.
I am now drinking a 20 oz beer at the airport bar. I still have a First Class ticket, provided the flight doesn't get cancelled.
So on my flight to San Diego the other day, we were waiting at the gate when I realized our boarding passes didn't have seat assignments on them. I was like, "Oh shit..." so we went up to the podium, where we were put in exit row seats! And then the flight attendant gave us a free drink to "thank us for sitting in premium seats"! Alaska may be my new favorite airline. Too bad I don't go to San Diego, Portland, or Seattle that often.
Alaska is the airline I take to Vegas, though I was disappointed to discover that their planes from Salt Lake don't fit the standard gates at Vegas, and you've got to climb down stairs and up stairs to get into the terminal. Not a pleasure, going from air conditioning to the 108 degrees of tarmac in the full July sun in midday Nevada.
