Just got a phone call about a project I worked on over a year ago, and no one there knows who their current contact is...and nor do I! I don't even know if any of the folks I worked with are still at our company??
Also, my friend canceled our New Year's Eve plans and now I am afraid I will sit at home and feel sorry for myself. I'm into the idea of chill NYE but not THAT chill.
Everyone has left the office except me. I could easily stay all day, but I won't. I am going to do the 5 things that I really need to be in the office to do and then I am going to take home a bit more and do from the comfort of my recliner. My desk is still a disaster.
I've got a pretty normal workload today, maybe a little on the light side. OTOH, finding it hard to concentrate - doing my work and figuring out what work needs to be done are both pretty difficult, so I may be totally off about how much I should be doing...
I'm fantasizing about being at home, curled up on the couch under a blanket with some takeout soup. Unfortunately, having trouble figuring out how to make that happen.
peace out
I'm taking a nap and then packing. I need my passport/ID, credit cards, glasses/contacts, smartphone, meds, some clothes/underwear, boots, and a jacket. Is there anything else I can't either live without or buy when I get there?
That sounds like the important stuff.
Didn't make it to work due to stupid earache and cough and stuff. Slept a lot and now forcing myself to stay awake and drink a lot of water.
Is there anything else...?
Book(s) to read on the plane?
Earphones?
It's a long flight. Consider a backup battery for the smartphone? (I keep one similar to
this in my emergency kit. They sell them in the checkout lines at my local grocery stores for $5-$10. They probably sell them at the airport, too -- but for a lot more.)
Zen, if you would like I could send you my packing list. I always work from my list because brain like sieve.
