She just loved Tom Hardy is all.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Burrell, would it help if I do a Rah Rah cheer for you? Rah rah! You can do it!

Ah thanks, we almost pulled it off. I finished most of my Xmas shopping although now I need to quickly line up a gift for some beloved family members who'll be coming to Christmas eve dinner. Tamale order seems in flux so need to nail that down tomorrow. Cleaning and sorting was least successful part of the day, but we stowed several boxes of books in the attic and packed two for donation.

Relatedly, my brain is pretty toasty.

Hoping to finish Xmas shopping for the youngest tomorrow. The eldest, Uhg. He's turning 13 and being as uncommunicative as to be expected. I swear to god, I'm just paypaling josh cash.

We (all the guys and me) went and hiked around Purty Lake, hit up the BassPro Shop and southeastern salvage which is a pseudo-antique place but I totally found a couple furniture pieces I want...but I don't live in 'Bama. We purchased nothing.

As much as I despair of corralling my family's plans (trying to GO to Target takes forever and many character changes) the bitch sessions after with my brother are a balm. I swear each year I'll rent my own damned car, but my brother talks me out of it with his spare cars, but.... "That one is a ski in the rain and the wipers don't work on that one." Torrential downpours tomorrow. My parents didn't put me on the rental, and despite that I'm a far better driver than my dad, THAT seems to be a concern. OY.

Don't get me wrong, I love being in this, but it's amused frustration.

We go through a lot of booze.

And my poor SIL. She picked up one of her VPs tonight. She's being deposed this week. But given her relationship with HQ,she brought her home to meet the fam including in laws and feed her chilli before taking her to the hotel. That's kinda gold.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I made the 9 hour drive (with the cats) to the parentals house. At hour 7 I stopped at a friends house to drop off some gifts but the lights were mostly off. I didn't want to wake anyone so I stashed everything inside the storm door. I really hope the rain doesn't reach the gifts as they are all books.

I need platform shoes to be able to give my nephew a proper hug. I broke the news to him that he's too tall to be an astronaut.

Our wings are not tired.

Aww, also skip the jockey job listings. There are a number of things the big guys just can't do effectively. How did the cats travel? Never had much success with that one myself.

Happy Monday all! Woo! Short week! With 4 weeks worth of stuff to do in it! Oh, never mind the happy part.

How tall is the astronaut cut off??

I am vaguely awake. My sister brought my niece in here an hour ago to give me a hug before she went to daycare. I should probably get up now and deal with east coast time. I think there's a nap in my future--I got here after 2am!

Also annoyed: friend sent me Lyft code so I used it for the first time, to go to the Airport. But it didn't work. So I complained and they were like "oh, sorry, here have 5 $10 credits instead" which does not make my $45 airport ride any cheaper? Grr.

I'm not sure it is so much an overall height limitation but the sitting height or somesuch.

They change a little depending on job.

This is my last day at work, and I really don't wanna. I still have two unpleasant meetings to get through before I leave at 2 p.m.!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm more or less on vacation until next Wednesday or Thursday (depends on when my boss sends me articles to edit). I have a few minor things to do this week, but they're no big deal.

My brother and SiL are in town, so I planned my work schedule so I would have time off for shenanigans with them. But I also need to wrap all the presents and clean the dang house. (I had a dream that I was steam-mopping the kitchen. How sad is that?)
